You should get the ignition switch replaced. I had similar problem and had a new ignition switch installed last year. It's a minor pain to have separate key for gas cap and saddlebags. The new ignition switch comes with its own key.

Can someone please post thread of ignition switch removal. Dealership wants $200 for new switch and $115 labor to fix this. Don't see anywhere in shop manual how to remove this switch!

Well I have one of Brodie's bypass harness on and just recently experiencing total ignition switch failure. That is turn key and no juice at all. Battery shows full charge, so its not the battery. So I will take out ignition switch and see if the assembly is binding or melted.... I have 04 FJR...

I just bought new irridium plugs online today. Should get them installed this weekend. I will have to get some of that anti-seize compound you speak of. Is it for the plug threads or the tip where the wire fits to plug? Mick

Yea I bought the bike used with 12600 mi it and the bike was two yrs old at that point. I added coolant to the fill resevoir probably twice, but never a fluid replacement. Color looked ok so I kept putting it off. That fluid sho' looks clean now:-)

I have been putting 45 psi front PRII and 47 psi rear on Bridgestone. Got 9000 mi on front and it looks about the same as your front tire with 23000mi. I only have 2000 mi on rear so it still looks new. I just find keeping my tires inflated a few psi above owner's manual recommended psi my tires...

That's pretty amazing you got that fixed. Most people would have parted the bike out after that kind of damage. I'm sure it was not a cheap thing to get fixed!

Thanks for that info. I have off from Dec 2 through Dec 12. No plans yet on what I will do, so I have a time available window. Mick
