I get numb hands (while we are on that sort of thing)

I put heavy bar ends purchased from Wild Hair Accessories - Meisser Bar Ends '01 FJR 1300 US$60.00. No problemo. Otherwise count to 100 and change hands.

The ST market and the FJR

Interesting to note that in Australia the sale of bikes has strengthened because Baby Boomers with high net disposable incomes are revisiting their youth and returning to biking (which they might have done for a short period of time in their teens). As a result these guys are buying a HD and...

    Exhausts

I only got back from Christmas in Sydney, so missed the first couple of weeks the law was introduced. The boys tell me that much was made in the news of speeding drivers/riders in those first few weeks but I have heard nothing since. As you can appreciate the Territory is a huge expanse of...

Lost my virginity today in a parking lot.

Heart goes out to you. Happened to me a month ago, dropped my glove sitting on the bike in the car park at work. Instead of getting off and walking around I leaned down to pick it up and went A over T. The fairings suffered the same damage as yours, fortunatly I have taken the panniers off and...

    Exhausts

Hi Troppo, yeah see my response. How is the bike, enjoying it. I rode the latest FJR in Sydney when I returned for Christmas and was impressed with the way they have changed the fairings to dissapate heat. Also test rode the Rocket III which was interesting. Don't know about where you are but...

    Exhausts

I have only had them on a week, but have noticed a definate increase in power, especially in the mid range. I ride to Adelaide River every Saturday which is a 250km round trip out of Darwin with a bunch of guys, on bikes include a couple of TDM's, a Rocket III, Ducatti 800 & Monster and an FJR...

    Exhausts

I'm currently in Darwin, moved here last June, so I am experiencing the 'wet' (monsoons are highly overrated). They have also just introduced open road speed limits of 130kph which were effective from 1 January this year. The FJR is a fantastic open road tourer. Its fast and comfortable and has...

    Exhausts

Purchased myself a present for Christmas, a set of Staintunes. After receiving your considered opinions, I stuck with a home grown quality product. It has gone from a stealth machine to something that sounds like a serious 1300 without being obtrusive. At speeds over 100kph you still get the...

    Bit of Aus' Swervery

Yeah, I know that road although I did it in an 80 Series in the wet and was very happy I had constant FWD. Was this area caught in the current fires, I heard today that Craig's Hut was destroyed. Have you tried the Great Ocean Road? I have done it on a Honda 750 four and also an RD350.

    Considering an FJR?

A well thought out arguement Radman. All the thoughts of how much it cost disappears into insignificance when you hit that long stretch of road and nail the throttle! An 8.75 on the trouser scale!

    FJR and snow

Snow/Ice/Salt? Makes living in the tropics worth while!

    First Ride

Well done Keith. My bike is a 2001 which I am happy with, but I did ride the 2006 recently which I would buy just for the brakes. Someone described them as being like the "Hand of God" when the big fella wants you to stop.

    Exhausts - Which one?

Blueflames look the goods......something different with the dual tips. The art of customising is to make something with more functionallity or something that stands out from the crowd. Blueflames meet this criteria.....unfortunately they won't ship outside the States!

    Exhausts - Which one?

They are a quality product with removable restrictors.

    Exhausts - Which one?

Bit sick of the FJR being in stealth mode and have been looking at what you guys have in terms of replacement canisters.............I would appreciate some input. Liked the look of the Blue Flames Dual S/S which would have been my first choice, but they will not send them to Australia. Muzzy...
