Wondering what I used to do with all the spare time I used to have, before getting addicted to news of this rally? Will there be some kind of program to help us with the withdrawals, when it's all over?

yes. There are many 24 hour rallies running each year. Sing up and ride some of them.

Well, I have spent the last 20 mins or so trawling all the other sites that I knew had been carrying an IBR thread and there is nobody there but here, there are 83 viewers as I type - this MUST be THE PLACE! :clapping:

My "guestimate" time of arrival for Aussie Davo has just passed. I hope that he has, in fact, turned up.

RayW... that bicycle stunt would be fantastic but is that Beemer going to get to "just around the corner"? I sure hope that it makes it all the way. That fellow has had a tough IBR :superman:

So. Scoring has been open for 1:30, I am concerned about the late riders. I grew up in E WA and lived in Spokane for about 15 years. Doesn't matter what direction you come from, it is surrounded by forrest rats.

Practical jokes at a border crossing will get you a 12 hour inspection. Those people have almost no sense of humor, I can tell you. My crossing now is done in and out of Mexico, but the Nefrad Card makes it easier here. It's a RFID chipped passport substitute, if you cross on foot you can be waved through.....

It will be interesting to see how the border crossing goes. Maura is a Canuk, it'll be interesting. I've had it both ways at both borders...

My worst was going into Canada. When the Canadian guard asked if I had a weapon (I was shotgun) I said "A 4 iron that could go off at any instant". Ooops. We missed our tee time

I just talked to Mark Crane. He had just left the Sand Point ID bonus. It was time restricted. They had to be a Zip's drive-in between 5am and 7am today. It is about 74 miles from the finish line. He said that there were about 60 bikes there waiting for it to open. That means that there are the majority of the riders all going down the same road at the same time to get to the finish line right before it closes. This should be interesting. It also means that they will all be checking into their rooms at the same time.

There are still some riders coming into Sand Point from the north. They are going to be cutting it close.

I've found that crossing the US border is made a lot simpler if you have a Nexus card.

I have one of these (EDL License) and it seems to make the crossings much quicker.

Maybe Iggy has one?

Those are nice, but are simply passport replacements for use at land border crossings. They are not 'trusted traveller' cards (which usually means that unless you are being a complete dick, you will have a much easier time getting across), nor do they provide priority 'head of the line' access at major points of entry.

Dan Schutter and I were kicking tire in the parking lot of the Red Lion when who shows up...TurboDave! He made it in at about 11 pm looking pretty tired but not having lost his sense of humor. He's convince he doesn't have enough points to be consider and official finisher, but I have to say I'm pretty damned impressed he's here at all after how hard the heat hit him before CP 2. He's grabbing some zzzzs before scoring at 4 am.

True, but the officers treat cardholders with a bit less suspicion than they do 'regular citizens'.
