Remember the term I used last year was....Happy!
Says the person who usually doesn't have to slog to the 3rd floor while drunk or carrying things form your cycle.

You have spent the night on the 3rd floor, haven't you? Did Andrea open the bathroom for you? If she didn't, did you get the wonderful experience of waking in the middle of the night having to pee so bad & trying to walk down a flight of stairs with your legs crossed trying not to wake everyone sleeping on the 2nd floor up?

& as stated before... I'd be fine with either weekend. I really don't care. I'm more concerned with having indoor accomodations... & it's not because I don't camp off the bike.

Yes. three years ago it was Jay George and I on the third floor. We just pissed out the window! Not really. The place was packed,so Andrea let us use the upstairs bathroom.

Have dates been set for this?

I need to get request for time off approved.

Yeah, I know, I'm living dangerously.

I'm quietly hoping it'll be the 13/14th.

Robert,

I would count on the second weekend in October. You are only the second person to actually choose one weekend over the other, so I think that will cut it. I am in for the 12th - 14th.

OK everyone. I am making it OFFICIAL. The fall foliage ride will take place October 12th to 14th. I am proposing ride central as the Old Clark Inn in Marlinton, WV. I am going to go ahead and make a reservation. So.... who else is in???

Yessss, I'm in!

My son Richard will be accompanying me on his FZ-1.

We'll be leaving on the 6th heading south on the BRP,

ride through VA, NC & TN, then cap the week off

at The Old Clark Inn in Marlinton on Friday.

After hanging out with everyone on Sat we'll have

a nice easy ride home on Sunday.

I sooo need this trip. I can't wait to see everyone again.

It's been way too long.

Bob, I've got a new bottle of Eagle Rare. Stay thirsty, me friend.

Just waiting for my son's hockey schedule to come out now to see if I can make it . . . seeing as I know I have to take him to Toronto the following weekend to play in a tournament I'd say I'm 95% In on this one.

Question: Does everyone arrive on the 11th and then ride together starting the 12th . . . or does everyone arrive on the 12th?

Awesome! It will be good to see you again Robert and to meet another of your sons. I can drink me some Eagle Rare by the fire in the back yard of the inn!

We normally leave home on Friday (the 12th) & meet up early evening on Friday (the 12th) having ridden a few hundred miles by day's end. The first full & only day of everyone riding together happens on Saturday (the 13th). Sunday (14) has normally been a "travel home" day... but you can do whatever you like! It'll be good to see you again... is your name CJ?

Thanks for the info . . . I'm not CJ . . . but you and I did ride in the same group in the Cats' & 'Daks ride a few years ago . . . I remember you wanted to buy a pin for your collection when we stopped in Lake Placid . . . hope to make it down for this ride

Hey I'm in for this! Just got home from my ride to AK and would love to see some foliage. Anyone riding from Northern Virginia? I'll be leaving from Alexandria.

Andy

Saw your post here after I sent the PM. I will be leaving early afternoon from home on Friday. If you could make it down in time you could ride out with us.

Yeah, I hope to see that you make it down for this. I do remember you from NY... just had the wrong name. & that pin that I bought in Lake Placid... it dons my tank bag along with a few others.

Ok, I just called Old Clark Inn & made reservations. The reservation window is definitely closing. I took an economy room on the 2nd floor because none of the economy rooms on the 3rd floor were open for both nights. I'd be open to a roomie.. but would prefer someone that I know. They are charging peak rates since it's leaf peeping season... so, rates would be $55.00 a night for just me. If I have a roomie, it's $65.00 a night.

I'd offer the Marlinton Motor Inn as an alternative if the Old Clark Inn is full.

I would hate to see anyone miss out on this because they might think

there is no place to stay.

The point has been made, get your reservations in NOW!

Agreed about Marlinton Motor Inn as an alternative. It just doesn't have the personality of Old Clark Inn by no means. Make your reservation now, folks!
