I am excited about this ride and I still have EOM to enjoy!! Life is good. I just got a call to be on jury duty next Thursday and Friday, though. I told them I would be out of town!

Working the weekend, trying to do a hardware upgrade for a customer. It's not going well :( Chances are if things don't get upgraded this weekend, the upgrade may spill over into October. I am going to call the hotel and make a reservation, but chances are I may have to cancel.

Added you to the attending list Scott.

It's sounding more & more like it'd be in our best interest to break into 2 riding groups. Personally... & this is only a personal thing... I don't care for riding more than 5 or 6 bikes in a group. It makes it so hard to stay together. Especially in towns where there's traffic lights & such. It also makes it harder for the lead rider to keep an eye on the back of the group.

Bob, I'm looking forward to meeting your brother.

If we get a couple of the fence sitters then definitely two groups.

At least one of the people that you have deemed as a fence sitter is actually an attendee. That would make 5 bikes in each group.

Edited to add: Oops, I missed Robert's son. That would make 1 group of 6 & one with 5.

Um...you are still off. The attendee list is eight right now. If one more fence sitter is in that would be nine. (Unless the one fence sitter is the two bike combo)

Ooh, I mis-counted... so sue me. That's still a lot of people to have in 1 ride group, though. & 1 of those fence sitters that has been deemed so by you, is indeed going. Which one, I'm not sure.

Fuzzy math! How you came up with nine was the real mystery!

I called and talked with Andrea at the Old Clark Inn. They are out of rooms for the 12th and 13th. She gave me the phone number to the Greenbrier Grill and lodge which is located within walking distance of the Old Clark Inn. The phone number for the Greenbrier Grill and Lodge is (304)799-7233.

Wow, the reservation window was closing @ OC. It's apparently shut sooner than I'd figured.

& I wonder if the Greenbrier Grill is the place for lodging right next to Subway.

Edited: no it isn't. Greenbrier Grill & lodging is that really nice looking restaurant you see as you cross the bridge in Marlinton. Looks expensive. There is another place. This is the one... Appalachian Sports. I remember Jay & I were looking @ the side of the building whre tey had a sign & thinking we needed to check it out. Prices were comparable with Old Clark. Don't forgot... there is alway Marlinton Motor Inn although, its not really walking distance. Well, I should say it's not walking distance for me.

Greenbrier link

The Old Clark Inn - 702 Third Ave. Marlinton, West Virginia 24954

The Greenbrier Grille - 814 First Avenue, Marlinton, WV 24954

Looks like it is a couple of blocks over and down. Google Maps link to the area

I think the guy told me $59 a night. I don't know what the cancellation policy is for The Old Clark, but it is 7 days for The Greenbrier.

Haven't stayed there, but have eaten there many times. Yes it is just a stones throw from the OCI. Hope you can make it Scott.
