Apologies.

The sophistication of their website only underscores my assertion that Alabamans believe the internet's sole purpose is for surfing porn. Call them on a telephone, and tell them you are a member of the FJR Forum. Gerald and Renaa (pronounced ren-NAY) are solid folks.
Cool! Apologie humbly accepted. I had to think about what set you off in a logical way then it dawned on me how my comment could be interpreted the wrong way.

@AdamK, beautiful '16... It'll look better sitting in your garage!

Let us know when it hits the PNW. North end, east-side meet?

I don't know pants, that blue 16 is making me envious. Damn Yamaha is doing it to me again. It was just two years ago when I was perfectly content with my grey 13 and Yamaha crushed my soul with a sexy red ES model.

Sportline gave me a figure of $16,700 on a 2016 ES. I shopped around and got a deal at JAF in Glenville, NY for $16,299. Added four years extended warranty, and came to just over $18k OTD. Just waiting on delivery now. Have never ridden any other FJR except my 2005, currently at 59,000 miles. Hoping this cowboy will be smiling ear to ear shortly. Going to miss the 2005, .... will put her up for sale shortly. Has been rock solid reliable and trouble free.

My bike's newer than Adam's..My bike's newer than Adam's..My bike's newer than Adam's..

They probably worked out all the glitches during that month too! Damn!!

I wonder who got #1 through #38 though??
I wonder if they make a batch of ESs, then switch over to As, or if they are interspersed throughout the line? It would be fun to see the assembly line, and to watch a collection of parts become an FJR.

Good question?? So the only difference between our VINs are the last digits and the '29' in yours versus the '30' in mine. Was that a date stamp of some kind or to distinguish and ES versus an A?

In the letter/number pattern of the VIN, digits 12-17 are the sequential production number.

However, digits 4-7 can show model differences. If digit #4 is a letter then 4-7 identify the model and 8 identifies the Country and Emissions (as in Europe or US emissions) . If digit #4 is numeric then 4-6 identify the model and 7 identifies the Country and Emissions. So watz digits 4-7 on the A vs ES?

Mine is and A model, and Adam's is an ES model. This only difference in the VIN other than the sequential number is characters 6 and 7 are 29 on mine, and 30 on Adam's. One can then extrapolate that 29=A model, and 30=ES model. Of course this is just speculation. It will be interesting to see some others.

Steady Captain, let's not go off the deep end. YOU already have a Purdy motorcycle.

Yes, but I believe both the A and ES series can start from 000001 in digits 12-17. That only the VIN in its entirety has to be unique, not just the last 6 digits.

...no...not from me. I know they are out there. I have seen owners with them...on the internet. So it must be true. They exist.

BUT no ride reports. Not even on YouTube.

So what't really going on with this new model year?

Too busy riding it I assume. Patience, before too long we'll be inundated with the many wonders of the 6spd and LED lighting.

So we've had VIN reports of a US A up to 0104 and an ES to 0039. Will be interested to see the range and where they are distributed. Randomly or geographically.

If any of them ever get to Texas we'll let you know!
