They have all done it to varying degrees. All the way back to 2003.Nice review, wondering about the vibration creeping in a 4k is all about? Seems to imply the 5-speed didn't do this but the 6 does.

Exactly, that was why I wondered about his comment, the vibes are nothing new. He comment made it seem like now with the 6-speed it was causing it to be worse or more noticeable in some way. I've owned all three generations and they all did it to some degree. My '14 is the smoothest yet though. They have all done it to varying degrees. To your point, the 2016 is the smoothest motorcycle I've ever owned, and I've owned a lot of bikes. What motorcycles out there are more smooth? I'd like to ride one to see if I can tell the difference.Exactly, that was why I wondered about his comment, the vibes are nothing new. **hijack** You owe it to yourself to ride a C14. While the GEN III FJRs are approaching the big Kawi for smoothness, there is nothing like spinning that bad-ass turbine of an engine in the upper revs.<<big snippage>>To your point, the 2016 is the smoothest motorcycle I've ever owned, and I've owned a lot of bikes. I have a good friend who has a '15 C14. I'm sure he'll let me take it for a spin. Thanks for the tip.Great looking '16 Bellerophon! Once you get a few thousand miles on the bike, it'll get even better.

I'm somewhat disappointed with my '15 regarding engine smoothness. While it's decent, it definitely has the 4K buzz through the bars. It's very similar to my previous '04 and '06 bikes. OTOH, my '09 [which the '15 is trying to replace] was an exceptional FJR and was a smooth operator anywhere in the rev range. Each one is different, guess I got a [somewhat] buzzy '15.

^^^What he said.Hey, he's not the only one waiting....
Of course, I still have two bikes to ride while I wait.
I got a '10 C14 (traded in an '03 FJR) when they made the major design change that has pretty much been unaltered since and I like the FJR much better. The C14 did not have enough low end grunt IMHO (regularly had to drop down 2 gears to pass) and was not nearly as sporty feeling as the FJR (it felt more top heavy to me). Also did not like seeing the tops of the side cases in the rear view mirrors. Don't get me wrong, it's a great bike and I put over 25,000 miles on it, but that's why I traded it in on my '13 FJR when Yamaha finally decided to upgrade with some important features.I have a good friend who has a '15 C14.
