(General drug addiction signs - which could apply to "other" addictions ;) )

You might have a problem if:

1. Your addiction keeps you out into the wee hours of the night, resulting in impairment of functioning the next day due to lack of sleep.

2. Your primary peer group consists of other people who share in your addiction, "enablers" as they are called, hinder the recovery process.

3. You've often gone without paying a bill or eating a meal because instead you've opted to spend your money on your addiction.

4. You've made excuses for ditching out on important plans so you could "get your fix."

5. You've made excuses as to why you "need" it in order to function yet deny its potentially debilitating hold on your life.

6. In addition to Number 4, if you've ever suffered physical or psychological withdrawal symptoms: mood swings, panic attacks, nausea, vomiting, or if you require 24 hour supervision for your own safety in the absence of your addiction.

Hi, my name is Tyler and I'm a motorcyclaholic.

B)

It use to just be a passion, but then the wife labeled it an obsession.

She often refers to my ride as a harlot,

or going riding as having an affair. ^_^

Ironically, she's OK with it...most days. :D

Hi, my name is Sport and I'm a motorcyclaholic.

From another website:

"Symptom # 1

Unable to meet responsibilities at home, school or office.

Symptom # 2

Continues to use substances or engage in behavior even when it is dangerous.

Symptom # 3

The need increases to engage in behavior or use more of a substance to achieve the same effect or feeling.

Symptom # 4

Has tried but failed to stop using the substance or end the behavior.

Symptom # 5

Continues to engage in the behavior or use the substances even when they are aware of the dangers.

Answering yes to three or more of the above symptoms during a 12 month period may show that you or a loved one has an addiction. The first step to treating an addiction is recognizing that it exists. "

I don't think more than one or two of those things apply to motorcycling, right? ... Right?

Is it still an addiction, if the voices won't stop screaming until go ride? I tried wearing ear plugs off the bike, no help.

Is it possible that some are here only because a judge told them if they didn't join they were going to jail?

Just because I would rather "get my fix" than do pretty much anything else doesn't mean I am addicted.......I am merely passionate about my hobbies....but just to satisfy everyone I will quit tomorrow.

It isn't a motorcycle... it is an aluminum-framed mistress

Is using an assumed name while getting your fix on that list?

... hello, my name's ... Canucklehe... no, wait... G-R-I-F-F , and I'm a motorcycleholic (sp?). See you all at the 12-step meeting at the Kuskanax in a week or so.
