Looks like I finally talk the wife and kids into joining me Saturday. My daughter and I are riding the bike over and the son and wife are coming later in the car. Looking forward to meeting all of you fellers.

Looks like I'm good for all 3 days. I'll be callin' ya Scab to meet up. I have a cabin on Smith Lake about 1.5 hours from Barbers that I need to check on this weekend. It would be great if some of you came up for the night (it would beat camping). I would be in the master bedroom, and there are 2 more bedrooms, one with a full bed, and another with 2 twin beds. There are also 2 full size air mattresses. It's 1/2 Interstate and 1/2 2-lane sweepers... a nice ride. Here's an idea... Friday afternoon after watching some practice laps, and before rush hour starts, those who would like, have a nice ride up there, do some fishing from the bank (don't have a boat yet), grill some rib eyes or whatever, do some bench racing and/or LOW stakes poker after dark, have a nice breakfast Saturday morning at the cabin, and ride to the races after. I'm not sure about Saturday night, but may be able to swing that also... but Friday would be for sure.

Post here or PM me if interested.

I'm going to slide over early Friday morning and throw out a tarp and claim a spot for us. Anyone know what would be a good time to stake claim? I can do butt-crack of dawn if need be. I have never been, so I don't know what time peeps start showing up and covering the real estate.

Oh, and it looks like PARTY at SouthernFJR's Friday night!

Scab..................I heard earlier this morning from a friend, that one of his co-workers is headed over to B'ham next Thursday, that Barber's will let you in that day to mark your territory..........or so the rumor goes...might be worth checking out anyway. ;) might save you from a early morning trip if it fits w/in your schedule.

Please spread the news that we are still recruiting Volunteers for the Barber Motorsports Museum for the motorcycle race at the Barber Motorsports Park the weekend of April 21st and 22nd. I have listed the Volunteer information for the Museum if you are interested. It is always a lot of fun to be a part of the events at the Museum and the Park. There are 2 volunteer options for the weekend. One is at the Museum and the other is working for the Park. The Museum is run by Barber Motorsports Museum and the Park is run by Zoom Motorsports. A link to each of their websites is also listed below so you can check out the Museum and the weekend schedule.

Zoom Motorsports has expressed their need in filling volunteer positions for the upcoming event at the track as well. I listed the Volunteer information below for Zoom if you are interested.

At the very least, check out the websites and see what the event is all about. You may just want to take your family out there and enjoy a day or the weekend. It is very family oriented. Children 12 and under get in free with a paid adult. There are no grandstands for seating, it is all grass seating and there is truly not a bad seat in the whole place. You just take a blanket, lawn chair, etc and make yourself at home.

Spread the word if you know of anyone else that might be interested.

And, let me know if you have any questions!

Thanks,

Ashley

Any timeframe put on this rumor? I have to work Thursday, so I'm wondering how late they might be there. I could scoot over after work if they are gonna be there.

From what I hear everyone moves constantly to catch all the good corners.

Got the bike packed tonight, room to spare. Weather looks good, I've got a route planned with all back roads. Last time I was in Anniston it was 11 hours home haulin'*** on the interstate so I expect 15 hours tomorrow. Leaving early to get to the good riding during the day.

I'll call scab friday to catch up with everyonel. Poker? never played the game will Y'all show me how?

Brad, I'll be leaving around 2pm Friday so should be in the area by 8 or 9. Let me know what day/time you are heading back to FL and I may ride with you to Jacksonville.

I've got to cut out Sunday somewhat early to make a monday meeting in orlando, was gonna slab it back to 75 and south into Ocala and east on 40. See you there and we'll talk about it (386)295-6522 .

FYI... today is the last day to get tickets online at the cheaper rate. The general admission ticket doesn't get you into the paddock area. Today, online, the paddock pass is $10, and is for all 3 days. At the gate they'll be $20. I wanted to make sure you guys knew that and didn't get surprised at the gate.

Here's Barber's ticket site.

Leaving the house in about 2 hours from Pensacola FL, riding up through Camden to take in the twisties and will be at 29 dreams this evening for the band and debauchery

See ya'll up there ( in an Australian/English accent)

Just have your *** awake at 8:00 a.m. Saturday. We're coming for breakfast.

Was good meeting everyone at 29 Dreams and riding to Babrber's. Sorry I could hang out at the race with you all but my 2 nephews already had me a spot plotted out and cold drinks waiting on me.

For those of you who couldn't make it you missed out on a GREAT race day, the weather was impecable and the racing intense!

+1 Thanks Scab for getting us a good spot and puting down the tarp. :D

10 hours on the slab and back to the real world. It was a great weekend and a good ride up, Alabama is a great state !

Thanks again to all for being great guides and hosts.

It was great to see all the forum members there! I had a blast! Special thanks to donaldb for talking me into going. I've never been before.

And of course, pics will follow as soon as I get a minute or two.

Had a great time up there folks, sorry I didn't get to meet you all personally, although I an sure I saw everyone's bike at least once.

Slapnpop had his blue 03 parked outside the Museum yesterday morning and there must have been about another 20+ FJR's there at the same time.

I was was with 2 others, an 03 and an 07, along with my 05.

See you next time,

Skippy

Twas a great time... hangin' with the fjr forum guys. Had fun riding with Pickaxe and Rodney (can't remember his forum name) on Friday. Then again Saturday after breakfast at 29Dreams with Scab, Fencer, Pickaxe, Rodney, Borrec, DonaldB, Juergen, and one other... Wade? Also talked with MotorSwatCop and Petey. Good times for sure. The weather couldn't have been better. Kudos to Scab for staking out a most excellent location. I'll also post some pics in a little while. Scab had a longer lens (I'm sick of hearing that ****), so I'll defer to his action shots. I did get a couple of good chick pics... stay tuned.

As promised...
