Sunday is the last day to get the rates at the motel noted above. On Monday the 15th they get released from our group.

This is now two weekends out from this weekend.

Hans you need to take me off the list as i have too much going on at home to be gone for the weekend.

catch all you folks next time.

Ditto me. 1) that's my anniversary weekend and I best not be spending it on the bike - if you catch my drift and C) I just got an invite to go explore No. Arizona next week. I'm pretty sure if I can get the moon and sun in proper alignment that a 3,000 mile ride trumps a 300 mile ride. I'm just sayin...

Thanks for all your efforts, Hans. Next time, I promise.

Hey, everybody, that's cool. I understand. It's hard to get away for three days, two nights.....

But it makes me think that since this was opened up as a CaFO gathering, and a lot of folks aren't able to make it, then maybe we ought to postpone it. It's a long way to go to just meet a few new friends vs. what a true CaFO gathering could entail. For those of us who have it still available, maybe we do local rides instead that weekend. Let me hear from some others what you think.

What???? You'd give up on a wekend of riding with FJR owners because a couple of folks can't make it? Sheesh! What are you, the Vice-President of the "Candy Butt Association"? :dribble: Methinks you might have others who would come who haven't replied here. C'mon folks, answer up before the Candy Butt VP makes an executive decision.....

Do it. The meet, greet & eat in Avila was great, well attended and well organized. We even had some riders from over 600 miles away.

How many rooms got occupied?

If I understand things right, we still need a WFO at the end of July, and since you have some experience organizing things....

The timing, while not the best, is doable for the current date. Kind of.

Having said that, I did take a nice 120 mile loop today to load the gps to make a route of later should folks still want to ride this weekend. This is a nice season for our area; we actually do have *some* trees that change color, tarantulas are road crossing everywhere, the Pozo saloon is at full tilt..

I'll leave it up to JB as to cancel or ride it. I *hope* I can ride Saturday, can ride Sunday. Of course, it will be on the Ultra since Crzy8 is still down due to deer strikeitis. The following Monday is work hell for me.

I'm pulling the plug on this here ride: CANCELLED!

Be sure to cancel any motel reservations. Don, I will explain to John that we did not get the level of interest anticipated.

Fair enough JB!

I for one appreciate your effort to make this happen and somewhat 1) sorry and 2) relieved it didn't happen. I will be working Sat, Sun, and my normal day off Monday, so it was sketchy for me too.

Once again, THANK YOU for trying - and let's try again. Don't let this sour your enthusiasm, or, better yet, let's you and me just plan a ride, post it up, and if it's just you and me then so be it! This time, I'll show you a GREAT eaterie in Creston.. not the local dive..

I think Airhead124? has the best model to follow. That sucker rides 2x every week. His local posts read "I'm riding this (day of week) to (location) and (I don't care if you working slaves can't go or not) if (you want to meet) here is (the location) and (time), and if no one shows up, I'm riding anyway!

I am starting to be very envious of those with that amount of time and financial resources..

Once again JB, Thank You.

Well, I appreciate the thought. I was frankly concerned I'd get slammed for bailing out and disappointing the others who may have still planned to attend. But the thread's been pretty dormant for awhile, and I had trouble gauging interest. Anyway, we'll try again. And I appreciate the offer, DC, and the sentiments (DC and TWN).

JB

Soooo, you're going to try again in the Spring (when I can ride again and actually participate) or early Fall?

Lessee, Yosemite will prolly be in May...that leaves June for a CaFO/WFO/NorCal-SoCal and then NAFO in early July....or the previously discussed ride in this thread after NAFO, say.... early Sept.? :D

And since JB has experience in planning the ride and Don will be available before school opens..... :yahoo:

Um.... You're not invited, Mike. Sorry. Jb
That's okay, since they cancelled the Yreka/Fortuna run this weekend, I'll met Bluestreek and the NorCal gang in Redding or Yreka and ride Hwys 299, 3, 101, 36, etc. So there! :bleh: Besides, I'm accustomed to rejection, I've been married.....twice! :D

Sure, but has your pickup truck ever run away?

JB, as it turns out, cancelling was a WONDERFUL idea. It rained all afternoon here.. as in real RAIN. This morning, it's fog to the ground.. :clapping: :yahoo:

Surprising to hear, Don, 'cause up here it's been a stellar weekend. Yesterday six or seven bikes and passengers went on the CaFO make-up ride and had beautiful weather and a great time. Here's the thread. JB
