For those of you who know Carl (n2osx) this os his wife Jonnie. Carl got in an accident on the way to work this morning. A car pulled out in front of him and he couldn't stop in time. He hit the car and was thrown over the top to fly about 45 feet. He is up at the hospital in trauma unit. He has a dislocated femur and a pelvic fracture. He also has a fracture in his lower spine but we haven't gotten much information about that yet. He can move everything but is in a lot of pain. I know his friends on the forum mean alot to him and wanted to let you know how he is doing. I haven't seen the bike yet. But it didn't sound so good. I'll let you all know as things progress and new information as it comes in.
Jonnie, Please pass to Carl we are praying on the East Coast as well.

+1 Jonnie and Carl are great people!!!

Jonnie don't hesitate to ask for assitance. Tell Carl to get well our prayers are with him.

Ouch! Hit'n a car is not good. Jonnie you take good care of Carl and Carl you take good care of Jonnie you'll both need it.

Jonnie you and Carl will be in our prayers for a quick recovery. Remember to take care of yourself while he is in the hospital so if he needs assistance when he gets home you will not be worn out from all nighters at the hospital. Trust me on this as both my wife and I have learned this the hard way.

Jonnie, tell Carl to take care and heal up. I guess I'll be holding onto those tires a little longer.

Thoughts and prayers sent your way Jonnie. Please tell Carl we're all thinking of him and to heal up fast. Do let us know if you need help with anything.

The police officer said that he had skidded around 44-50 I can't remember exactly. He said that his rpms where at 6 grand and he down shifted the bike from 4 gear which all doesn't make sense given the street he was on. The car poked it's front end around a van to see if it was clear and says that he never saw carl. Yeah. Were going to have to talk with a lawyer though. Thanks again. OHSU contact information is above reply.
+1 on the lawyer. Sooner than later so he can get his own investigator to look at the scene before the skid marks fade. Better to have an independent analysis since it sounds like the officer has already begun to see the biker as "at fault".

My heart and prayers go out to you both.

Heal quickly, Carl.

Very sorry to hear this. Prayers out to Carl for a quick recovery. Shame on the offcer for not cosidering all of the facts.

This is the reason why I ride with a headlight modulator. I have one on all of my bikes. I have noticed that people see me much sooner now.

Jonnie, let the forum know if there is anything we can do. Local or group wise. Sorry to hear about Carl's mishap and injury. Heal well and quickly Carl. The bike can be replaced or repaired, don't stress about that until you have your health taken care of.

Please let Carl know that we are praying for a speedy recovery. Even tho I'm on the East coast please let us know if you need any kind of help as our prayers go out to you as well Jonnie.

Good thoughts and prayers being sent to Carl & Jonnie.

Jonnie- thanks for keeping us informed

Carl- hang in there, my friend. You have a lot of friends thinking about you
