I want to thank you all for your well wishes. Especially all those who don't even know him. I hadn't ment to post to the whole forum just the pacific northwest where people know him so was surprised by the outporing of sympathy by those who haven't met him. But since I do not post ever on here, I was unfamilar with where to go. You guys are a great bunch of people and it has been really nice sharing all of your comments with him while he is in his bed. He will be going in for surgery on his hip/pelvis injury tomorrow, but we won't know what time until midnight tonight. The pain medication they where able to switch him to yesterday seems to be working much better for him all though it's causing him to sleep all day long. He is going to be out of work for 3-6 months recovering from the injuries and therapy. They have him in a back brace for the lower spinal injury, but the dr says it is a lower scale spinal injury so shouldn't cause any problems with mobility. They will have to evaluate things after his surgery tomorrow. I will keep you posted as I hear things. Thank you again for all your thought and prayers.

Wow, I frequent quite a few boards, and this one has by far the fewest accidents.

There is a reason I read this one the most.

I am really sorry to hear this, I am glad he is doing better.

This is a great community and I am glad to be a part of it.

My family's thoughts and prayers will be with Carl and his family.

I hope he has a speedy recovery.

Best wishes to both, and I understand about modest means, believe me.

Reading through the thread, I kept wondering where the 6000 RPM that the officer quoted came from. If the tach is frozen at that, it's completely meaningless. It's an electronic tach, no mechanical linkage to the engine, and secondly he has no idea what controls were in use before the crash. I've seen guys grab a lot of throttle when they grab clutch and brake, which does nothing but spin the motor since they've grabbed clutch, but the RPM has nothing to do with what they were running before the event.

Best wishes - tell him we are all praying for a speedy recovery. Ya'll sound like great folks and I'm glad to hear all the well wishes and people offering to help.

Carl -> my condolences on the injury.

Texas hexes on the offender & healing voodoo sent your way.

Carl, prayers to you for a speedy recovery and thanks Jonnie for your communication to us. Sure know this is a trying time.

So I am sorry I didn't post last night. My phone died have way through witting an update and I was just too tired to do much besides going to sleep. As twistedcricket said carl got out of surgery okay last night. I had a friend of his manning his phone while I was in postoperative with carl. The surgeon came by this morning and said that they looked at the x-rays after surgery and there is a smal bone fragment lodged between the joint of the pelvis and femur. So they are going to have to go back in. They are looking at possibly Monday for the net surgery. He's in the recovery process and it's going to be a long road. I will keep you all posted as much as I can. Thank you to all of you who have him in your thoughts and prayers.
