You guys are killin' me here !
When CFR sold out (the first time) I was kind of relieved 'cause then I could stop thinking about it. I keep dithering and it'll sell out again.

Sure, I've had a couple of offers of ON riding buddies (OK - one actual offer and one hint - Huron ;) ) - but it's a long way to ON even slabbing it. And what in the hell would I do if my wimpy butt couldn't take the 500-mile days ?! whine

I'm thinking I should start out small and then meet you all at CFR 2010 - which I figure will be back in ON or at least somewhere 000s of miles closer to the east coast ! :D
Hey, we understand...you don't want to possibly disappoint strangers...and the unknown by yourself can be scary. Those are BOTH good reasons not to go...OR good reasons TO GO.

But really, do what is comfortable for you...you will have future FJR events to look forward to.

Just know that CFR 2009 Nakusp only happens once. :)

the offer of riding my FZ6 Vancouver-Nakusp-Vancouver will continue to stand...please come

I know it's not an FJR, but she's just as fun!

Maybe you could ship your bike to some intermediate point where you could meet up with some other CFR types and be more comfortable with the remaining distance to Nakusp? The cost of shipping would probably be largely offset by the gas and other travelling costs you'd save. Or, you could ship your bike all the way out to Vancouver, ride up to Nakusp with a few of us and go to Calgary after CFR and ship your bike back from there. You'd see the most beautiful part of the country that way! Just a thought.

Barb, Wheaton, FJRGuy, Huron, Bungie, Toe...... you make me laugh ! I REALLY really appreciate your encouragement and urging (please know that I'm not whining so that you'll plead with me to go. It's embarrassing actually  ). I'm going to have some serious chats this weekend....

Motorcycle Show tomorrow ! Perhaps I'll see something there that'll clinch this for me :p

Mary Ellen, That's a great offer of Barb's and would work well for you and allow you to join us, your FJR friends at the CFR Rally!

That generosity occurs a lot on our FJR forum. I've a standing offer to Teerex51 - Stef Sarao of Milan, IT to use my FJR any time he wants to fly to Phoenix and attend an FJR Rally. Stef and the Italian FJR Forum showed me such a wonderful touring time in the Pyrenees May of 2008, I wanted to repay his hospitality. And then when Greg "SkooterG" Marbach was in Tuscany, Stef urged Greg to take the train to Milan where he had a loaner bike available for Skoot to ride the Alps with other Italian friend of mine Hook and Hook's son. Kindness always does go around, you'll return the favor to Barb someday!

Sat on an FZ6R today at the MC show. Might work ;) (but I'd want my Feej; whine... again..... )

Saw Gypsy at the Show!

One other thing...AcadianRider from STN lives in Moncton...maybe he'll ride with you on the way west on his ST1300.
Hey that's an idea......
You could ride with us but you would need more than two weeks off. The axe came down at work today, several people got layed off. The good news is I have all the time off that I had requested so we will depart around the 1st of June and return some time in July :yahoo:

Oh crap - about work :( :yahoo: for YOU and your time off! Did Ann Marie hear about hers ?

What major airports are nearby Nakusp so I could pick up my wife before the rally? She would fly out of LAX and hoping for a non-stop flight.

Hi Ed, the best would be Kelowna a sweet ride over to Nakusp. Kay and I will be leaving from Kelowna on the morning of the 18th. Would love to meet you & Jacquie there maybe the evening of the 17th, have dinner at one of the wineries, then get an early start on the 18th.

John

Ed, you might want to look into WestJet, a lot of flights into and out of Kelowna.

you and I are going to have SUCH fun!
Hopefully, in public....
If it's in public, there'll be admission charged. (I can't believe I said that :p )

Speaking of which, I still need accommodations. I wonder if that spa resort has something.....
hehe, if we charged admission, just think of the fun we could afford to have...*winx*

I emailed the Kuskanax, you are added, bunkie!
