In,
Lack of running FJR solved in form of a 2016 ES,
I love my wife.
I have been helping Bill so here is a quick update, shirt design is done and approved by Bill, same style, material (dritech) as the 2010 one, just new color scheme (Blue shirt, Yellow graphics) and the map has been updated to add the other CFR meets.
I am working out the cost, ordering and payment details with the shirt manufacturer the idea is that you will order and pay from their site rather than me or Bill having manage a mass order, The shirt Manufacturer is used to dispersed group buys and yes the more orders we place the lower the final cost.
Ladies, I have not forgotten you and there a ladies style approved by Diana.
Since this is my back yard I can offer the following advice
As for local roads and routes, any 500 series road in Ontario and any 300 series road in Quebec is always worth taking a run at.
Guide to some of the local Ottawa roads you will probably encounter can be found here

Speed limits, the police will not bother you as long as you are below +20 km/h the posted limited in both Ontario or Quebec. Above that and especially +50 km/h over the posted limit they will nail you hard. In Ontario at +50 Km/m over posted they will take the bike for 7 days, leaving you at the side of the road and max fine is $10000.
Quebec country roads are typically posted at 90 Km/h
Ontario country roads are typically posted at 80 Km/h
Quebec roads will still have frost heave at this time of year and are generally rougher than Ontario roads.
Just because a side road is marked on the map around here, don't assume it's paved and not all paved roads stay paved.
Be prepared to ride in any temperature between 0C and 30C, June can be unpredicatable and anyone coming over Lake Superior needs to worry about below freezing temperatures.
Since we are so close to Midsummer we have lots of daylight hours, I have one route which you can only run around that time of year which I plan to run\lead if anyone is interested but be-warned the full loop is 10-12 hours saddle time and I have a rep of not stopping and grossly underestimating time and distance.
Happy to provide advise for interesting routes to Pembroke for those folks who are new to "The Valley"
Oh the drinking competition and golf tourney are not separate events.
