Correct me if I am wrong, but an item like a steering head bearing that has worked loose at 150 miles should be covered under a warranty....right???

That is not considered a wear item and a new bike better act like a new bike til it is out of warranty. That's bogus!!! I am not paying for that! No way especially if I bought the bike from them.

I hate when people get ripped off or scammed.

Ya it was bogus. They claimed it was a customer adjustment. I'm with you that it should have been covered under warranty with the symptoms of loose bearing showing up within a few hundred miles. My local dealership has been a pretty good advocate for me in the past against Yamaha so I was taken back by this bill.

Oooooooooh and Bounce makes contact with the ball!!!
Not quite out of the park. Would have needed some comment about a dipstick for that.

You dealer will change your girlfriends for you?
Sure hope it was for an Italian model.
"you" dealer might not but mine will, as long as your really nice. I prefer the good Irish girls, they're much better, and usually smaller than me, unlike the Italian ones you're probably used to.

Your really nice what?

Oh, you mean "you're". Now it makes sense.actually I did put you're (you are) but auto correct changed it and I didnt (did not) proof read it which on this forum I've (I have) noticed is bad because the grammar police will show up at your door with an arrest warrant. I am truly sorry and will proof read anything I put on the forum. Thank you for all your assistance.

Sorry, a bit of Friday fun since you'd picked up on "You" when the originator (probably) meant "Your".
I hate auto correction. It took me ages to convince my iPad's spellchecker that, when I write "its" as in "its colour is Magnetic Bronze", I don't want it changing to "it's" as in "it is coloured Magnetic Bronze". Now it's back to changing it. Grrr. (By the way, that last "it's" is correct.)

I never worry about the difference in spelling between American English and British English. In many cases the American spelling is more original. It's where reading a word that is incorrect means I have to re-read it to try to get the writer's meaning. So all of your examples are fine with me, so long as they're used correctly ;) . I once asked for the way to the lifts in a large US hotel. The bell-hop (or whatever he was) just stared at me open mouthed until I translated for him.
What bugs me is, when I have a service done, oil is charged as individual litres (liters) as if supplied in 1 litre retail plastic bottles. They have a large tank of oil, it's got to be significantly cheaper even with a normal mark-up than we are charged.

Don't forget the extra charge for shop supplies and EPA disposal.

I had to get a bike inspected here in PA (something I never had to do in CA). Anyway, I was surprised to see a shop supply add-on when the only shop supply was a tissue with alcohol used to prepare the surface for the inspection sticker.

At the risk of going too far off track, I asked about the 'shop charge' after an inspection. The guy said since the state regulates what they can charge for the inspection they tack that on for a little profit.

If you think thats high price then you dont want to own a boat! remember we are in times where 1 bag of groceries can cost 60.00 and just turns to ****

Get used to it things are getting high everywhere. My boat shop rates on the lake are 115.00 Hr And 100.00 service call to lake house but all shops on our lake are that. back before gas went over 3.00 gallon I remeber our rates were 60.00 but I also remember when 1900.00 woud buy a nice mid size 4cyl street bike too. you should just see the overhead of running a small shop even after income tax and employee taxes I have a 15% self employment tax. Have you seen how fast a 100 bill dissapears these days. lets say I was mr good ole boy and I tried and charge everyone 20-30 bucks for a repair I would be in the hole and have to close my doors. Not all but most shops are supported by the service dept not new sales. And yamaha pays very very little to mechanic for warranty on most repairs this is why they have bad attitude at warranty. Ive been there and done that. But then again Yamaha has very few warrant issues come up

I had 4 different warranty visits to dealerships on my bike. Plus 2 different recall visits. Plus one other recall that I haven't bothered to do. So IMHO you are completely wrong- Yamaha is at least as bad if not worse than any other vehicle manufacturer. And my opinion of dealership service and their prices (see what I did there

) I think is like the majority here- learn to do it yourself, save money, and know it's done right. Then when **** is broken and/or parts are left off you'll not get an argument as to who did it.
