I've noticed the FJR has gained a lot of respect. At bike night I get a lot of people just oggling at the bike and coming up saying they wished they had one. Most of those who say that are on BMW's, but at the same time many BMW riders will not talk to you if you're not riding a BMW and wearing an Aerostitch jacket, funny I think.
OK, I don't talk to myself. I have an Aerostich jacket and ride an FJR.

Hey Matt:

I was cruising the Blue Ridge Parkway in June and found myself surrounded by a Beemer riding group in their colorful ATGATT... while I was parked to take a photo or two. They were curious about my car tire and wanted to know how well it handled. "What kinda bike is that, any way?" one of them asked. He wondered why he didn't recall seeing one before. I thought, but didn't say, "that's because the only part you guys will see is the tail lights..."

Anyway, glad I had enough sense not to say that because though the bike is CERTAINLY up to the task, my riding skills are not.

Just yesterday, 11/10/11, I had a station client, who rides a 1200RT, ask me "what kind of bike" etc. I told him. He said basically the same thing, "Never seen one of those before..."

I told him "'cause I don't get mine serviced at a Bimmer Dealer."

You'd have thought I smacked him in the face with a carp.
