On or about February 18, I knowingly posted an inappropriate comment and received the following warning notice:

50% Warned on Feb 18 2006, 07:56 PM

After that warning, I sent an e-mail to each administrator and apologized for my error in judgement. I have since made several posts that have been non-controversial and have actually been helpful.

It is now over 30 days later and think it is time for the warning to be lifted. I am now taking it to the people.

What say you?

It might help to yank that PM off your website. Dissing a nationally known motorcycle personality and forum admin in such a way ain't getting you anywhere fast, unless of course, it's your intent to get negative rep points and or banned.

Well, it seems like a very civil PM from the benevolent dictator. Nothing in there about moist *** cheese or any of the more powerful words he has been known to write. Down right polite in my opinion. Still, it looks like Motorgod is displaying it as an act of defiance and he may yet invoke the wrath of the dictator....

Just my humble opinion, of course. Hmmm, **** or not a ****... tough call...

Personally, I dislike animated avatars in general. All that dancing baloney is distracting at best even when I am on a broad band connection, and I am one of the poor Luddites who only has dialup from home. I'm not particularly impressed by Britney either, but that's just a matter of personal opinion. More to the point, the forum is run by a few people who give a lot of their free time so we can be here. Why give them a hard time about something trivial?

Nope, sorry that is what most people are taught in school but quickly learn that in real life you are held accountable for what you say.

You are free to say it but that doesn't protect you from the consequences. Now how that is any different than saying something against Stalin and being killed for it I don't know. :dribble:

M. I can hazard a guess on part of that. File size. The animation for the Avatar of Shame is really quite small. A cartoon. The animated images motorgod uses are more detailed and therefore much larger. some of them are quite popular as pointed out here often, while others are just disturbing. And no that isn't a gender thing, at least for me.

However, as I read this whole thing, the warning per se was about something that was posted and then removed by admin (that I missed, dang it :angry: ) and the avatars are just collateral damage.

FWIW, I have to agree about keeping it clean (ie: keeping the animated, jumping up and down, distractions down) but then I am kinda old school on that and on a dial up connection when at home to boot.

And this forum is not a democracy, as pointed out in the Forum Guidelines.

Personally, I can't see where that has hurt the Forum.
