I know, It's about time, right?

The EOM 2013 site is up and running here: www.fjreom.com

The fjreom url will redirect you to www.attacktheroad.com/Concrete5_EOM - that is my new domain and where I have the EOM site built. I'll get the url cleaned up later, I wanted to get the site live.

I will have the registration finalized this week - I've got a few details to nail down with the hotel yet.

Sweet Wayne, thanks so much for doing the legwork again, Heidi

I can feel the hair on the back of my neck tingling a little bit. It's getting close! Got the Hotel reservations taken care of a while back. I've spent the last couple of months getting her ready for this trip. New PR's, bought an Escort Redine and a marcparnes Visual Alert, changed all fluids, my new Tom Tom Rider is installed and a new to me Smuggler is on its way! I've been test riding it all and all is good! I'm ready! Is it too soon to start packing?! :)

Wayne, I was just looking at the route descriptions. Do you know if the Moonshiner will pick up Richard Russell Hwy down in GA?

Looking forward to the routes being posted. Even though I can't make the EOM, I will be up in October and would love to ride the same roads as everyone else. Thanks for the effort put into this!

Heidi,

No, it doesn't reach that far west, and holds to the namesake of running 28 end to end. It works south to the intersection of SC107 and SC28, then runs north on 28 the entire length to US129 (Deals Gap), then runs 129 south to Robbinsville, over Wayah Bald into Franklin, and some other secret gem east back to Maggie Valley.

I will have these posted shortly so everyone can start figuring out ride plans.

Many moons ago I rode RR with Jeff Ashe & a few different characters. That's a bummer, man. Good road as I remember. I have a pic of all of us on the side of the road. Jim Havard is even in the picture.

28 is an awesome road, though & will definitely be fun end to end. I've done that before but it's been many, many years.

Heidi, I roughed out routes that include the road you mention but couldn't determine how to cover that area and do interesting roads there and back (avoid slab) at less than 350+ miles. Here's a Google Maps link. I often take visitors for rides in the mountains and learned that routes of that length are unsafe for the majority of riders. Very few maintain concentration for that many hours on these twisty roads - or even want to. It's understood the EOM500 is only for LD riders and I didn't want to include a route among the other adventures that I believe could mislead people and put them at risk.

If you or anyone else wants the unpublished route send me a PM with your email address and I'll return the GPX route file as an attachment.

You **might** need to depart before 9am in order to get back before dark...

That looks like a nice loop Lee...now I just need to find someone else who will ride it with me.
The EOM500 express will probably shoot for a 5:30 departure...

Fack me.

Is that 5:30am and waiting for someone to get their ass in gear, then leave at 6:30am? Or is that KSU and away?

355 mi, 9 hours 35 mins?....that route is not the EOM500...but it does look like lots of fun. Besides Bob (intech) won't be there...I might wake up without a hangover this year.

Wow, a hell of a route there, Lee. I know what you're saying about the mileage. Absolutely!

Wayne, just went on to register... unless I missed something, i didn't see this info... are the included tees long sleeved? I want one of each... long & short so, I need to know which one is which. Thanks man, Heidi

Edited to add: I just completed my registration. I ordered a short sleeved shirt additionally... making the assumption that the included shirts are long sleeved since this is always what we had in past years.

Edit #2: during a 2nd look I see there is information that I missed on the included SHORT SLEEVED tee shirts. I need to rectify this situation. I damn sure don't want 2 short sleeved shirts. Please send me info on correcting my registration? Thanks man, Heidi
