I'm holedup in MtPleasant Michigan

Riding tunnel of trees highway and lunch at Legg Inn tomorrow.

I'll meander down to Lewisberg after that.

Any roads will be exciting after Michigan...what was I thinkingšŸ˜“

The 'tunnel of trees' up to Copper Harbor is pretty cool. And the Gay Bar in Gay Michigan is on the other side of the peninsula.

See you in Lewisburg.

Cav47, I'very seen lots of forest rats in WV. I have auxiliary lighting myself so I have an advantage. When I ride at those times I generally tag along with larger vehicles and let them rup interference as much as possible.

Is the parking lot party going to still be going Thursday night about 11:30 or so????
I have the dilemma of pulling in that late or waiting until the morning to ride into Lewisburg. Problem is I cannot leave here until 3PM central time. Basically it is about 520 miles to Lewisburg. I will not worry about falling asleep as I am a late night person anyways. The thing that scares me a little is the wildlife in the last few hours to EOM.

If I lay up somewhere before it gets real dark, I will be wasting half a day riding by myself into Lewisburg. What would you all do??? I do not have aux lights but my HIDs do a good job. I have ridden plenty in the dark, but not in WV or SE Ohio. Is it bambi wonderland there?? I will be on the interstate 90% of the time.

I am tempted to push through. Just tailgate near a big rig and go as slow as I need to go. Especially if the parking lot is alive and well. You know, worth the trip!!

What would you do?? Lay up short in a cheapo hotel somewhere along the route, or champion on and get the party started on Thursday night???

Kev, You do not have to vote, I know what you would be drinking Thursday in Lewisburg!!!

Personally, I'd ride in to Lewisburg on Thursday. You can take the Interstate and follow another vehicle once it gets dark without much risk of hitting a critter. Being a Geezer, I am usually in bed before 11:30, but it is likely that some people will still be up partying. After all, this is going to be a big rally.

There'll be plenty of people in the parking lot at 11:30. There always is.

That is what I am hoping for!! Nothing like coming home to an empty house after a long ride. This would be the same disappointment. I would hate to see the parking lot like a ghost town after 8 hours on the road.

So does that mean you are promising to be up late Vic?? Beverage in hand?? Will you give me a hug when I get there?? No kisses, save those for Ms. Tyler!!

All that is entirely possible. Walmart is next door and I'm getting there early enough to get a sixpack cold. :)

I rolled south out of Crawley yesterday (Just west of Lewisburg) at 7am. Between there and Narrows, VA, I saw no less than 2 dozen deer along the road. Mostly standing, and avoided with a solid bit of hard braking. On the drive in Friday night (I arrived at 11:45pm, but I was in the car), there were plenty along I-64 between I-77 and the Crawley exit.

On the slab, if you can find a truck or car moving at a decent speed, tuck in behind and use them as a shield.

No shame in stopping over and arriving in one piece the next day.

just my .02...

I've seen a big buck jump across a road between cars and it made it. Be careful.

I do not have a spot tracker. This would be the perfect situation for one though. Thanks for the Recon on the roads....almost like you are a Marine or something!!!

The bike is clean, packed, tires topped off and ready to go. I'll be taking off tomorrow at the crack of noon to get to Sanford FL by dinner time. It will be a most excellent dinner. Wednesday morning Staintune007, Chivvalry and I will meet at the crack of 9(ish) and we will Ride Like the Wind. See Y'all in Lewisburg. May the force be with all of us. :D

I will be leaving Akron Thursday morning at around 8 am if anyone is interested in meeting up. I will be down lewisburg way around 1 pm. So I am thinking about riding over to paint bank for lunch at swinging bridge. Food is great. Any takers?

You'll be about an hour and a half behind me...but I won't be getting to Lewisburg till around 6ish.

New PR2's mounted last night. Dropped them off for balancing this morning. I'll be picking them up after work today and then heading out for a feeler ride. Then home to pack. 2 more days. Just 2 more days.

1 more day of work. 1 very loooooooonnnnggggg drawn-out day of work. (I am still not sure why I scheduled it like this..... what was I thinking!?!?!?) And then in the am.... I am jacking the road!!!! I've been waiting for this weekend since the end of July...
