This is my 1st EOM. I don't know if or how rides are organized. I don't own a GPS. Am I on my own? If so I'll plan accordingly.

I'm in the same boat, but have a GPS. I'm sure someone will let us tag along, and if not, I'll lead a small group.

I'm not sure that you wanna be telling Bust about yer nice clean colon, there Vic...JSNS.
He inquired, I answered. Don't worry, I occasionally wear a medieval chastity belt. It's just a hobbie. I'll bring it just in case.

When you get there, start socializing, and I'm sure you'll find someone to ride with. With over 100 folks showing up, you should have no problem. But if so...there are great roads in almost any direction. Don't be shy.

You guys are gonna be fine.. This gathering is like all you read about here.

New guy/first timers are treated like the rest of us.

Abused an' misused then tossed to the curb!!

That's why I bring extra condoms sometimes things happen.

All joking aside, don't sweat it guys, you're going to have a blast! Plenty of helpful peeps will gladly assist you.

Except for the Geek. He'll just get you drunk and point you towards violent bookcases.

Good discussion about groups - anything over 10 is not manageable - anything over 5 is not much fun to try to manage. Even if a larger group wants to ride together, they can - just break down into smaller groups, run the same route with about a 15 minute delay in departure between the smaller groups.

And if it rains, beware of the group of 29 joining Bust at the bar.

Vic usually brings a 5# sledgehammer, to do valve adjustments. After you cozy up with him, just ask to borrow it.

I remember my first FJR gathering in Washington state, WFO 4 in 2005. What a bunch of weirdo's but somehow I fit right in.

As I recall last year a few intrepid folks called a car rental place then went bar hopping with DD's cause they didn't want to ride in the rain.....

Yeah, and we rode all day without any rain until just a mile from the hotel. what a bunch of *******! (I definitely say that tongue-in-cheek, because it would have been time spent with Don. Little did we know)

Mona and I rode most of Friday until about 30 minutes out from the hotel when we just got hammered in a downpour.

I do wish I'd gotten to spend more time with Don. EOM was my first and only face to face meeting with him and with many of you folks as well. Also a big part of why we're coming back......
