Sweet, moving along fast! Wish I had as much room as it looks like you do... Sure makes it easier to work on things. I did quite a bit of work on mine this weekend myself.

Need help with brake and clutch lines. I've scoured the internet and am not finding what I'm looking for without a lot of adapters and/or special tools and expense.

Rear brake line: I need a flexible line with a 10mm or 3/8 banjo on one end and a 3/8-24 IFF (inverted flare female) on the other end. I will use a standard SAE hard line from there to the master cylinder (3/16 line with 3/8 tube nuts).

Clutch line: I am using the original FJR clutch master cylinder with a 10mm banjo on both ends, but I need it to be over 8 feet long. I can run a hard line in between with 3/16 line and SAE tube nuts, but it will still need to terminate in the banjo on both ends.

So, what I really need is 3/8 (or 10mm) banjo to 3/8-24 IFF times 3! The two for the clutch can be simple fittings/adapters or short hoses with a hard line in between.

I don't want it to be overly complicated or expensive. Suggestions?

So what are you using for your pedal assembly then? Are you going with the clutch on a handle instead of the foot pedal? I just used some hard line from the pedal assembly back to just before it goes through the rear firewall and then from there to the bike (both clutch and brake) I connected using a simple brass fitting and the banjos. Brake to a braided line I used to have on my ATV and the clutch directly to the stock line. It really only cost me about $20. all said and done for some line and fittings etc. Let me know if you want some detailed pics of what I did and I'll post some for you.

I'm using an aftermarket pedal assembly but I'm mounting the original FJR clutch master cylinder.

What is this brass fitting you used on the banjos? If there is a fitting that will allow me to mount a round banjo on one end and a 3/16 hard line on the other, then I could use the original double banjo lines for clutch and rear brake. All I would need then is another double banjo flex line on the front of the clutch master cylinder, and three of the fittings.

 
I just got it at the auto parts place, they have them at hardware stores too. You just need to maybe take a little sand paper to it to really smooth the mating surface out to be sure and also use washers obviously. I'll take a pic here in a minute and post it.

Oil Filter Service Company in Portland will make up anything you want custom. Or simply put together a long line with adapters on the ends to meet your needs. Prices are good and I've used them many times for custom applications with excellent results.

I'm sorry I told you I would post these and I didn't. Here they are. And yes I did use flare connections, you can rent a flare tool at Checker or Autozone if you don't have one.

This is the end that connects directly to the stock clutch banjo

This is the end that I connect to the banjo on a braided line that goes back to the back brake, you can also see the proportioning valve I have inline so I don't blow out the rear brake with all the volume that the pedal pushes.

Aha, so what you have there is a 'T' with NPT threads? (maybe 1/8 NPT) with an adapter to 3/16 hard line, a plug, and a banjo bolt? That might work (obviously it's working for you).

Yeah it works perfect, no leaks or anything. Just sand the face of that fitting down super smooth so you get a good seal.

 
So did you get a chance to put that all together and did it work for you?

Was sick with the flu last week, and out of town the entire holiday weekend.

I found banjo to 3/8 inverted flare fittings I will use on both ends of the clutch line. They are made by BrakeQuip, but not sold online as far as I can tell, so I will try to get them from Oil Filter Service in Portland. I am going to replace the stock rear brake line with one that has a banjo on one end and a 3/8 inverted flare on the other, or I might go with the adapter like you have.

 
Update: (sorry no photos at the moment)

Have been away from home more than at home over the holidays, and it's been cold in the unheated shop, so not as much progress as I would have liked.

Got several heaps of new parts for Christmas, and I have almost everything I need to complete the trike.

Finished mounting the pedals with brake and clutch m/c and throttle cable. Fabricated and mounted the shifter and cable.

 
Sweet! Can't wait for pics! I got a ton done on mine this past couple weeks. I'll post an update tomorrow with pics on my thread.

Still haven't figured out reverse yet... :angry2:
