Plan on a 9AM kickstands up on Saturday, so that folks riding in on Saturday will have a few daylight hours to get there. And, just as long as nobody decides to do any pavement surfing in the first 10 miles this year, that will give us a plenty early enough start to finish before dinner time.
All makes of bike are welcome.
As an aside, the "2010 Whites" route is shaping up nicely. In addition to the "golden" roads we covered last year (The Kank, Bear Notch, Crawford Notch, Franconia Notch) a couple weeks ago I scouted out a few new sections that looked promising. Good thing I did as one of the roads, marked on both Mapsource and Google Maps as being paved, turned out to be about 10 miles of dual sport worthy 2-track. It was OK riding through it slowly (solo), but I wouldn't want to have dragged a loaded convoy of FJRs through there. There would have been a mutiny!!
But I am adding at least a few new (paved) sections to last year's route that will stretch the mileage out a bit, with a few new added diversions. It will still be an easy day of touring with lots of photo and rest stops, suitable for 2-ups.
