Count me in as a definite "maybe"........will see how the job thing works out and what schedule I get stuck with. Who knows, Tom, you might end up with both Axe and me to tote around the previous weekend! Looking forward to making this ride.

I hope you can make it. But I told Axe that August 14th is out for me. I have my 40th High School Class Reunion that day. I'm good for the 15th as far as I know.

Tom

I've been trying to make this ride for the past couple of years and always wind up with a scheduling conflict. Well, it looks like this year I can make it.

I'll probably scoot up after work on Friday evening. Should I just wait to see the routes before reserving anything?

Just wait 'till Tom announces the group rate "deal" with the Inn. They'll be some super secret code (like "FJR Greens&Whites") you have to give them for the group rate.

PS - glad you'll be able to make it.

Cool. I like super secret codes, especially if they save me some money. :)

Thanks Fred. It will be nice to see you and the others. NH and VT are not that far for me, but I can ride the Adirondacks and still be home for dinner so I don't normally get out that way. I am looking forward to it. :yahoo:

A deal is now set for the ride. The following was snipped from a e-mail. "We have rooms available and the rate would be the same as last year $99.95 single/double occupancy. The rate is subject to tax, but does include a full hot and cold breakfast buffet."

When you call for reservations ask for the FJR Green/White Mountain Ride rate. Cut off date is July 18th!

Contact information for them is:

A Fireside Inn & Suite

25 Airport Road

West Lebanon, NH 03784

603-298-5900

Fireside Inn Web Page

Would we be meeting there both Saturday and Sunday mornings?

Yes the motel is the starting point and the cut off for the rates is July 18th! Get those reservations in early folks.

Too bad for me, Tom, but who knows..... maybe me and Chris can scout the area! Ya know, just to make sure the roads are good and all. Just sayin'.

What time is the boat leaving the dock Saturday morning??? Looks like I've managed to worm my way around a few obstacles and will be making the ride! Is it PC to call kids "obstacles"? I plan on riding with my wife in tow on her Kool-Aid cart, assuming the less -coveted two wheeled varieties are inclusive in this sojourn?

My plans are to ride up to the Inn Saturday morning. Looking forward to finally making a ride!

Plan on a 9AM kickstands up on Saturday, so that folks riding in on Saturday will have a few daylight hours to get there.

And, just as long as nobody decides to do any pavement surfing in the first 10 miles this year, that will give us a plenty early enough start to finish before dinner time.

All makes of bike are welcome.

As an aside, the "2010 Whites" route is shaping up nicely. In addition to the "golden" roads we covered last year (The Kank, Bear Notch, Crawford Notch, Franconia Notch) a couple weeks ago I scouted out a few new sections that looked promising. Good thing I did as one of the roads, marked on both Mapsource and Google Maps as being paved, turned out to be about 10 miles of dual sport worthy 2-track. It was OK riding through it slowly (solo), but I wouldn't want to have dragged a loaded convoy of FJRs through there. There would have been a mutiny!!

But I am adding at least a few new (paved) sections to last year's route that will stretch the mileage out a bit, with a few new added diversions. It will still be an easy day of touring with lots of photo and rest stops, suitable for 2-ups.

Fred,

Will you be publishing a gps file of the route. I think the wife and I will be joining you at least for part of the 'Whites' tour, returning to our place in Lincoln.

That all sounds fun...including the "interesting" road.

Have a great time you guys. :clapping:

Yup, absolutely. I need to get the VT route so I can Mapsource it.

I'll probably wait until just before the ride so there aren't too many revisions.

Here's the section of interesting road that has now been excluded: GoogleMap link
