I updated the Avatars for 100K +. Comcast/Infinity dropped their hosting of Web pages and pictures so I moved the Avatars to Imgur.com. I also added 100K, 200K, 300K, 400K Yamaha Club Avatars for those of you that can't or don't want to run just one bike up to 100K, but buy new ones every so often but still rack up miles. Mainly ment for those of you that are on your second, third, or fourth, or more FJR's.

Started the riding season with 164,593 miles and wasn't expecting to see 200K until midsummer 2016.

But that was before I began my riding plans for the year. Even after those plans were made I didn't think I'd hit that milestone.

Sometime in March Warchild posted up about the Tour of Honor and this year I thought I'd give it a try.

It was a game changer for sure. I have never had so much fun riding until I began incorporating these memorials sites into other rides.

Total for 2015 = 42,409

This bike is amazing for sure.

post deleted. Waaaaaay off topic. And I hardly ever post off-topic.

Wait, it never occurred to me that these mileage clubs and avatars could be cumulative for all bikes or fir's. Is that so? Then I will have to stop being impressed by 200 and beyond clubs as evidence of the incredible durability of our bikes, but more about the durability of the butts on them!

I felt sorry for those that buy a new bike ever so often that they don't really test the durability of one. Believe me, 200K on one bike is a big deal.

Met Gray Ghost at a roadside rest stop in Ohio last Friday. He says he'll have added over 60000 miles this year alone on his new to him '03. He also plans on resurrecting his old '03 by welding up the engine case where the cam tensioner wore through, and replacing the tensioner parts. He'll then go for 500000 miles if the group says it's not cheating to have a few replacement (tensioner) parts in the engine.
I gave him a safety pin to hold some of his gear together. He does take ATGATT to a very high level.

Great talking with you Gray Ghost!
John d, I did it in 209 rides for 65,749 miles for the year. which gives me a 128,002 for the last 2 years, of which 77,060 is on my clone 03, Grand Total of both FJR's 472,170 miles as of 12/31/15. How many of us are still riding a Gen 1? I thought seriously about buying a 2015 (15 seconds or so !!!!!! ) I'm as faithful as old Shep and I'm staying as long as I can with the Gen 1.

I knew your were over the 400K and were on your second FJR and that is the reasong I did those 100K, 200K, 300K and 400K Avatars. Nice to see you using the 400K. In anticipation of you reaching 500K this year I will make a special 500K FJR Club, which I am sure you will be the only person in the World to achive it. Totally Awesome. Yamaha needs to recognize you for this accomplishment. Don't you think?

It would be nice if Yamaha would fix Gray Ghost's original '03 with 395,110 miles. All it needs is a cam chain, some tensioner parts, and a small weld. Then his first '03 would top the 400K in no time. It would certainly look good on Yamaha and Gray Ghost at the same time.

I am soooo jealous! I remember when I had the time and resources to ride 43,000 miles per year much less 60k+. Unfortunately that is not the case anymore.

You Da Man!

And if you were to get a Gen III ES FJR you might ride even more! Cause as much as the Gen I has a special place in my heart, the Gen III IS that much better.

Other than The Gray Ghost, who can say that they put that many miles on, almost all in their home state?

Greg, How many miles on the all your FJR's combined? Maybe you have already made it to 500K, as it already appears that you are very close.
477,000 currently. Getting close....
