260 cold miles, including more damn rain, and we are home safe.

Thanks to MizzBust for putting up with Bust and to both of you for hosting us once again. We truly appreciate it.

Thanks to Rayzerman and huron52 for helping fix my air horns (they came in handy when an old fart towing an RV decided to change lanes first and THEN look in his mirrors) and all the other stuff we did. I owe ya one, buddy!

Pam, Bill, Mike, Wayne, Tim - it was great seeing you guys again.

Stay tuned for Tech Day VI. I have idea what our theme will be. I'm sure it will be epic.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna go take a nice, hot shower and try to f'n warm up.

As requested, here is the recipe to make Buckeyes (the candy, not the college team that kicked some Nebraska butt yesterday...) :yahoo:

Mix together:

3 cups creamy peanut butter

1 1/2 sticks butter, softened

2 lbs confectioner's sugar

Roll into 1-inch balls - may want to refrigerate the dough before this step, so the dough is easier to roll and stays together

Using a toothpick, dip each ball into melted chocolate, leaving the top section uncovered. I use the Wilton's melting chocolate discs that you buy in craft stores, but any baking/candy chocolate should work.

Refrigerate once the chocolate is set. Try not to eat the entire batch in one sitting.

ENJOY!

Great seeing those of you who made it to Tech Day - I'm very glad I took the car so I didn't have to be thawed out once we arrived!

- Susie

Made it home around 5pm. The last four hours (from just west of Cleveland) it rained non-stop, between 41-43 degrees. I just drained the hot water tank taking a hot shower.

I learned several things from this trip:

1) I need a new fecking helmet that doesn't fog over every 30 seconds

2) I need to install a fuse block and make connections for my heated gear

3) I need cold-weather/waterproof riding gloves

4) I need to renew my f'n passport so I can take the shortcut through Canada, eh.

5) Or maybe I need to grow some brain cells and not ride when it's frickin' 40 degrees and raining!! Nah, THAT ain't gonna happen! (Andy, it looks like just you and I were that stoopid brave).

I had a great time, thanks to Bust and MizzBust and it was great meeting everyone! Thanks again to Ray and Bill for helping me with my bike (which, translated, means that they did the work and I watched, or maybe turned a wrench once). I thought I also saw Tom there, but that can't be as he never gets to go anywhere...

SoozeBG, thanks for the recipe! My wife looked at it and informed me that I have had those before and loved them...remember what I said about my memory?

Here's hoping I can make Tech Day VI in the spring!!!

Glad you guys made it home safe. I was hoping for better weather.

A big thanks to everyone for contributing. No matter what your part was, you helped make it a success. Bust and I truly enjoyed the weekend and look forward to the next one. :)

Made it home in time to get called up to a golf tournament. So if I wasn't cold enough, that made sure of it.

About the only thing I accomplished was seeing some good people again. Sorry I couldn't stay longer.

Heated grips was a bust from the start, so it wasn't attempted. Wayne & Barry, I appreciate the help on the cruise. Sadly that quit on me when I got to Portland. Acted up for a little while, then stopped working until about Grand Rapids. Then about the last 30 miles, it decided to work again. All I've got left is to replace the servo I guess. Project for Tech Day VI possibly.

Thanks to the Bustanuts for their hospitality.

I wasn't there but I got some live updates. All I gotta say is: You pussies couldn't properly scream into a phone if someone kicked you in the balls and handed you the receiver. I am SO disappointed!!

Dolly was shy and did not put in an appearance but she must have been around somewhere since her coffee cup was there ....

The main cook and bottlewasher of EOM, Wayne (ExtremeMarine) made an appearance just as the food came out ....

Somehow this hooligan made it past Bust's Security Perimeter ....

tech-day-12-L.jpg

Ray wanted to see what I was doing with my forks since he is planning on servicing his forks over the winter and also owns the superior Gen II .....

Here Bust is dreaming up the next crank phone call while wnyfjr and Tom (Huron52) look on in amazement .....

Many thanks to the Busts for once again hosting Tech Day. It was a most entertaining weekend and we even got some work done on the bikes in between drinks, crank phone calls and other tomfoolery. The recordings we got of Bust's dog, Duke getting pissed off with Bust and trying to bite him were a hoot. You can listen to the YouTube recording above to get some of the highlights.

Also thanks to Ray for his assistance with the fork rebuild and for inviting me to stop in at his home on the way back where Jill made us a traditional Canadian Thanksgiving dinner. While it was wet going home after dinner back across Toronto I didn't really care since I was in my nice warm, dry Highlander.

Tom may not be back home yet since he was getting directions from Bust on how to get back to the border. Judging from what I overheard I think Bust got his training from Bungie so RadioHowie may want to get a bed ready for Tom. jus sayin'.

HRZ Bro', I have to tell you my feelings were really hurt that these heartless bastards didn't call me up on Saturday night and talk dirty to me. I had to call Florida and have RadioHowie do it with me, I lost my wad when RH mentioned "butterfly tongue flicks!"

We are back safe at home. Thank you Barry and Sheila for a always great time. It is always nice to watch other people break stuff....er I mean fix stuff....yeah that's it

Nice to meet other FJR owners. :yahoo:

Nice to see everyone made it home safe. Tom unfortunately knew his way to, and home from, the Windsor crossing. No way was he taking any direction from me.

Hoping for nicer weather this spring when we decide to do it again. I think some of us could use a bike wash weekend.
