I was out riding a bit yesterday and I realized that my bike has a pretty good stumble coming off of idle when accelerating, so I'm thinking a TBS and plugs are due. Not to mention that my idle - which has always been low - is even lower. As in, around 500 RPM. Anyone have any thoughts on how to get it into the 1000 RPM range? I know aboot the idle adjustment knob thingy - it doesn't really do much on my bike. I've tried.

And my Audiovox cruise control is not setting again. The control pad has juice and it turns on, but won't set. Any help with that would be appreciated.

Your idol speed, cruise control, and shutter after acceleration could all be a vac leak??? How many vacuum lines do our bikes have?

There are a number of vacuum lines that are associated with the throttle bodies. The usual place to start looking for a leaks if you have an autovox style cruise system is to disconnect the vac lines used for the cruise and block the lines. Then you can see if the symptoms correct themselves. The next step is to check the caps that cover the vac ports used for syncing looking for cracks in the caps since these can be damaged during a throttle bodies sync.

It is my experience however that a small air leak will cause the idle to increase rather than decrease.

I'm planning to be there. If there's an air mattress still available I'll use it, if not...I wont.

I'll prolly come in late afternoon Friday and likely head home by Tuesday or Wednesday or whenever Susie kicks me out (Friday night).

I'll plan on replacing plugs and doing a TBS maybe a brake pad replacement.

For those doing brake and clutch fluid change I highly recommend getting Speed Bleeders makes the job a cake walk.

I got mine from here a local place in Indy: https://www.racerpartswholesale.com/category/SpeedBleedersMotorcycle

If you want to order and pay for them I can pick them up and save $$ on shippen.

Damn! Can't make this one. Have to work the entire weekend. I wanted to bleed the brake lines and put some pretty new fluid in there. Guess I'll be doing that on my own. You all have fun. Without me there, at least you'll have someone else to talk about.

There. Not there. Doesn't matter. We talk aboot everyone no matter what.

Wait - since you're not gonna be there, does that mean that it is or is not gonna rain? The weather was damn near perfect last year.

I can step up for bringing bad weather. I'm pretty good at it.

The wife acknowledge Tech Day so I'm in. The STS install that John D did looked a little involved, longer than I thought it would. But it sounds like has good results, so I don't see a reason to do it much differently.

If you want help with the cruise control keypad Andy, I'll give you a hand with that.
