Sent JBinIndy the address. All is well.

Git yer *** over here, Tom. If your bike is not road-worthy, take a page from jwilly's playbook - he came to EOM 2011 in his wife's car, with (I shart you not) a trunk-load of beer. Bring local stuff.

Wayne & Julie - I do have a soldering iron and solder. The soldering thing is Tim's forte, but we should be able to get the lights taken care of. I have a smattering of shrink-tube - anyone got a stash they can bring along? Although I think it was TommyKay last year that had some liquid electrical tape? Sound familiar?

I am IN!! (Unless the weather gods decide to make it a monsoon weekend. I am staying in the tent after all.)

I will bring some shrink tubing. I will also bring my tools. I am not doing any work on my bike, so will be able to help anywhere needed. I am interested in seeing the ES forks apart.

I'll have the soldering iron and good selection of heat shrink. I've got to do an inventory of what wire I have available. I think I have some black & red 14 AWG from last Tech Day. Don't think I have much other than that. I'll check when I get home, but having too much wire is better than not enough.

Although I think it was TommyKay last year that had some liquid electrical tape? Sound familiar?
Messy stuff. I'm not a fan of it, but won't argue with its use. I'll have splice tape with me if heat shrink won't do.

Assuming my connectors show up this week, or early next week, I should have a plug n play harness for the STS. I'm hoping that will free me up sooner. As far as anyone that needs wiring, get what wires you need to the appropriate spot. I'll make the connections when I get there. If anyone has connections to make to the battery, I suggest ring terminals. I have a couple but more wouldn't hurt if someone has them.

Announcing FJR Tech Day XIII.
Date: 9/17/2016

Location: Casa de Geek: Marysville, OH

Post up if ya wanna pop in to "supervise" or wanna wrench on yer bike. If yer gonna wrench on yer bike, let us know what you plan on tackling so that all the required pieces and parts are either brought with you or you can ship 'em here.

For anyone who wants to do a valve check: GET HERE FRIDAY! The engine needs to be cold.

If'n there's work being done on your bike, STICK BY YOUR BIKE 'TIL IT'S DONE! You just may learn something.

We have two guest bedrooms (already spoken for) and several inflatable mattresses, plenty of floor space if ya wanna throw a sleeping bag down inside, and plenty of yard if ya wanna pitch a tent outside.

If you didn't make it to the Tech Day we hosted last fall and / or just need our address, PM me.

ETA: Since Tim mentioned "hotel," if anyone would prefer to stay at a hotel, we do have a few in our little city of Marysville:

Hampton Inn (from what my BIL has told me, they have some "interesting" options at breakfast, thanks to the presence of Honda)

Super8

Comfort Inn

Holiday Inn Express
Did I miss it in here somewhere, but is there a full address for Casa de Geek. Thanks.
JBinIndy, I'll be leaving Friday afternoon if you want to ride together.

Cool.

I'm also kinda interested in seeing the ES forks apart, not that I'll have any idea what I'm seeing.

wifey and I are out.

Our daughter just informed us that her "School Marching Band" has a show. On the 17th.

Right now, I plan to leave early Saturday to arrive mid-morning, but thanks for the offer to ride along. Maybe we can catch up some other time.

Now that we know when Bob is arriving, he will be somewhat less questionable.

But only somewhat.

Tim - are you still planning on doing the hotel thing?

A couple of quick thoughts:

1. Service manuals. I have a GenI service manual. It may be useful for us to have a GenII and GenIII service manual handy, just in case. If you have one and have room for it, please speak up.

B. Coolant. I'll grab some coolant so that'll be on-hand.

I have the GenII and GenIII A and ES manuals, but no '16. Maybe we can get Joe to bring his 2016 manual for some perusing during beer time.

As with most things on the internet, I do not wanna know why you had that picture readily available, Joe. But, if he comes out, you'll see what I mean. If you have ever been to MSTA's Mail Pouch Fly-By, you may have met him. I know he and his wife are in the Outer Banks right now but I'll follow-up with him to see if he's gonna do valves.

Tim - are you still planning on doing the hotel thing?
My plan is to not sleep on the ground, outside, or anywhere that isn't temperature controlled. Hotels aren't exactly in walking distance. I didn't think I'd be the only one going to a hotel. If there's room indoors, I may just bring an air mattress with me so I can participate in evening festivities, provided there is still some space to put one.

I'm flying by the seat of my pants. I don't really have a plan.

Cool. Bring your air mattress. We'll find space for ya.
