Most always the light is triggered when one wheel comes off the ground, when engine is running and in gear. If you fly over railroad tracks, rough road and potholes, it will set off the light. Does the same thing when bike is on center stand running in gear. It will send a message to the ECU that something is out of sync.
Sometimes the sensor is dirty, but most times not. Turning off the key and then on, will recycle the system, same as rebooting your PC.
