Florida Desired Destinations

Dave and I stayed in a condo on the east side of Key West - real nice place. We took the bus to the west side to meet up with Jim and partake in the nightlife. A short cab ride after the busline shutdown got us home. The condo had covered parking underneath and even a little bar overlooking the water to wet our whistle when we arrived. Hopefully Dave pops in to refresh my memory on the name of the place. It had 2-bedrooms and baths upstairs and someone could have easily slept on the couch downstairs. We where there in the first week of April and it was actually a hot ride down there (90F) as we were going through the Marathon area IIRC.

I would do that again.

Just saw your post Tony. Count me in (solo), and stopover sounds good too, as long as there's room. If not, I can do the whole trip down. My chances are very good in late Apr, early May. I think another thread would be a great idea.

'fraid I can't do May 3rd w/end.......have family visiting the whole week arriving on April 25th and they depart on the 4th!!! Sorry.

This does have the makings of a memorable occasion!

Would really like to join in, if earlier in April was possible and a stopover at one of you obliging guys' place was doable say on a Friday night.

I would prob make arrangements to stopover somewhere on the return leg too, that would be the Sunday night, but that's just me......not sure if LKLD can get me in shape that soon LOL.

Don't want to disrupt you guys plans if you're set on the May 3rd date, I can always join another ride another time.

Ok, now that the KW trip has taken a life of its own, what about rides or tech days before/after the trip? You know, like our last one, or a day ride to meet up for lunch or something. Might be a good way to shore up details on the KW trip too. Yes? No?

How bout Daytona? Anybody going? I'm planning on meeting Kathleen at IHOP on RT 50 by I-4 at 8am on Sat March15th, then heading up to the track to kick around for the day. Hoping this time she can bring that beautiful '73 Honda 350 four. I think Mark and Jim Cook are coming as well.

BUT, what is FL most noted for? Yep,dem dare Beaches. Right about now (here it's hovering at a balmy -7F) that sure sounds like great therapy to me

Siesta Key & Lido Beaches (just outside of Sarasota) are my fav's. It's also the whitest, almost flour like sand you'll evah sea!

Maybe but … Everyone knows the best water is on the EAST coast. We don't get tar on our feet AND visibility when snorkeling can be incredible!

Dropping down to 20 feet and swimming upside down looking up at the sun in its blue skies is VERY cool.

I haven't been there for awhile. It's a good meetup spot or along the way to get a sticky bun & coffee. There's lots of good roads in that area and semi convenient for many of us.
