Keeeeeeeeee-RAP! And I thought my bloody boot from the Crazed Squirrel Attack today was a hit... I ain't got nuttin' on that one! Glad you're OK, Don.

Unflippinbelievable!!!!

I'm just amazed. And so relieved that your ok Don. Wow!

Thank you for sharing because I didn't know to let off the brakes. I knew from Warchild's story to hit it center but that was it. I'm also glad it didn't poo all over you! LOL!

Your gonna look pretty hot on that black 08 baby! :D

LOL. Asked my deer hunting buddy about that.. he says deer strike meat is no good. Too many poisons and adrenaline gets released into the meat, souring it. mad.gif I did think about bringing Bambi home, decapitating her or something..

ummmmm as a good southern boy that i am i can attest that fresh roadkill is good enough to eat....if you pick out the undamaged cuts of meat..... :D and i am glad you are OK
Ya know when ya start eatin' roadkill ...., I dunno,....get ahold of yourself!

Following is a silouhette of the only type of animal I intend to hit.

The infamous 4'12" pole dancersaurus.

Hey DC I was looking at the front forks of your bike. Just an idea you have a farkle on your forks that may have helped in your straight line approach and helped when impact occurred to help keep forks from not bending into the radiator.

Your forks do not look as if they are bent. That super brace may have helped and assisted upon impact.

That was one serious piece of riding you did there Don, congratulations! Deer are slowly becoming my biggest paranoia when riding at dawn or dusk in this area. Not that long ago I had one kamikaze into the side of my work van and then a couple of days later had one of my employees take one out head on in his van so I'm hoping that will cover me for awhile.

DCarver,

Glad you are OK. You have given me somethings to think about, and try to mentally drill, for when I run into a deer on the bike. Living here in the midwest, it really is a matter of when, not if.

Sorry to hear about your deer strike.

Great job on saving your a$$, now how do you like black?

That was amazing. I am WAY glad you are OK.

Ride the bike...................... Yes, that is probably what did it for you.......... Nice job. I am TOTALLY glad you are OK and wallked away!! WTF do you say to what you did?? Nice job!!

Good skilz there Carver! Just goes to show it's not always luck that gets you through such situations. Could easily have been a disaster.

Congrats...............in a odd sort of way, are clearly in order.

May the motorcycle Gods shine brightly upon you for ever more, clear weather, open sweepers and no LEO.

Regards!

Next time Bambi gets in the way or you're trying to figure out a fitting way to shake her loose of her mortal coil post-impact, remember the lessons from the other now-famous thread and just "plow the road"...

Holy Bat-Sh*t Man! Glad (and amazed) that you made it through that in one piece.

My advice, the best all around deer repelent is a deer tag during deer season. Its always worked for me...

Holy Crap Don... I didn't see this until just now. Those fuckers are solid as a rock aren't they? Gunny on impact noise... my ears were ringing after my deer strike in August with 32db ear plugs in. Ya done good... getting off the brakes, hitting her while you were straight up, and riding it out. Great save. Did you do a bunch of S-turns after impact like I did? BTW... looks like a total.
