As Dylan sang, "Things Have Changed".

Richard, scratch me, please. Won't be making this gig.

Have fun and be safe, all.
Let me think about this for a New York second.

Sean rides a freaking skooter to Death Valley, puts on more miles than most FJR peeps and has a GREAT time.

My beloved KrZy8 is still down and out, so I'll be riding a WeeStrom, no, wait the fabulous WABS to yet another FJR event (unless Miss Ultra gets called to duty, just for fun), and Old Michael, Old Michael, amigo!~

Wish you were going doode, my goal was to get you as hammered as Pops Niehart was at NAFO! ;)

BTW, did Dylan really sing those exact lyrics?

'For the times, they are a changing', yes.. :p

Hugs n' Kisses

:****:

Still looks like a 1 day ride for me, maybe things will change.. doesn't matter. KrZy8 is still without sub frame - sometimes me thinks it is just better to pay to have work done, at least you can ***** at the phooker when he delays... At this point KrZy8 is spread across the shop, waiting a harness from Jim at Eastern Beaver, the sub frame my bud Jim - but boy oh boy is KrZy8 clean and *polished* given all this downtime...

Oh yeah, this is what I say to 'down time'

Just got off the phone with Rich (exskibum, who still does not have the internet at his new digs). He asked me to have you remove him from the list, he just can't swing the trip for now.

Ladybug and I will still make it, a quick look at the 10 day forecast has temps in the upper 50's with a 20% chance of drizzle or light rain. Sounds like typical coastal weather in Eureka during the summer.

Ok boys and girls only a few days now......the SoCal contingent will be leaving at 6am wed morning heading for Healdsberg for the night. Thursday we are going to go across 128 to 1 up thru Fort Bragg and then back on 101 up to Eureka.

Counting the days!

For the SoCal crowd,

anyone taking the 405 from down south, please note that all northbound lanes will be closed from 11pm until 5am, at the 605. There are diversions posted but the route isn't clear. Be aware, and plan accordingly.

Part of them anyway. Lanny and I will be about 4 hours behind you. We will probably stop for the night just south of San Francisco. See ya'll up there.

That might get pretty warm Neil. Look forward to seeing you and Lanny.

Not sure what that means, but if you're talking about the weather, we're heading up hwy 1, so it's all good. If you're talking about something else...hey buddy, we stop for lunch at Chik-Fil-A.

(just a joke) :p :D

Looking forward to seeing you folks also, and all other friends new and old.

I was referring to the later ride and the heat but hwy 1 will fix that! lol

I will likely be heading out on Tuesday morning but I still do not know by which route. I have plans to meet up Wednesday with a Seattle-based friend at the Redding home of one of his extended family members. 1, 101, 395, 25, 99, I5......all of the usual suspects with their charms and flaws.

Sylvia and I launch Tuesday AM as well. Yakima is our target for tomorrow night and somewhere around Ashland Oregon for Wed night. As little slab as possible is the mantra!

Looking forward to catching up with you guys. It's been a long time since we saw you at FODS.

We plan to be on the road very early Wednesday morning. Tuesday will be a crazy day, with 8hrs at work then last minute preparations, and delivering the puppies to our daughter. This will be the first time she has had our two German Shepherds at her house, without us.

If you are around here give me a shout. 541-536-8556. If you end up going down 97 take hwy 66 from Klamath falls to Ashland. From there you can jump on the slab to Yreka and take 96 west along the Klamath river to Willow Creek and then 299 to the coast. See Ya there or somewhere.

Since we will be crossing the Golden Gate bridge and this will be my first time, I will be stopping at both ends for the photo ops so if that doesn't float your boat, please go on ahead without me. I'm usually pretty efficient about these stops so know that if you do want to join me, it won't be a very long break. I realize this is old hat for many of you and you'd probably rather keep going but it's the highlight of the trip for me.

I'm heading out Wed morning. Will overnight at Cloverdale and then take 128 to the Coast. Need to get another shot of the Drive Through Tree and then on to Eureka.

Has anyone thought about a ride on the Mattole Road??

If you want some even more spectacular views, take the Sausalito exit (just past the turnout for the north side vista point), turn left under the freeway, take the first right onto Conzelman Road and drive up the road a bit - full view of the bridge and the SF skyline. :yahoo: Continue on to the top where it turns to a one-way road and either turn around and go back down or continue on through the Marin headlands area (McCullough and Bunker Rd then through the tunnel, turn RT to get back to 101). Well worth the time, imo! B)
