I lucked out... and was able to get a lightly used penske this morning. I've contacted Dave at GPS directly to explain and thank him for the great group buy discount. Thanks to Warchild for putting this GB together.

Aaaaaaaaand, we're done!

Final tally:

Fork Upgrades: 25

Penske: 18

Ohlins: 7

Shock rebuilds: 10

GPSuspension forks springs: 13

Congrats to all you Group Buy players! Stand by to have your FJR's handling TRANSFORMED!!!!!!!

Thanks again for pulling this together Warchild. I talked to Dave today and got all set up. Shipped my forks out too!

Found my forks and shock waiting for me when I got home last night. I think I'll be telecommuting from the garage today... :yahoo:

Just spoke to Ben, they only got my forks yesterday and they've turned them around and are shipping them today. The shock was shipped last week and should be here any day now.

That's fast service and greatly appreciated. Thanks GP!

Yep... that's another example of why we use these guys for this annual Group Buy..... B)
Shop tells me the rear is shot and needs replacing..... if anyone gets cold feet on this deal, shoot me a PM as I'd be interested in taking your place if it happens quickly.

Shipped mine out last Thursday, called today, was told that I may get them tomorrow or maybe Friday. That's after being underway for 2 days where I couldn't return their call. These guys rock!!! :yahoo:

Call us at the shop and we can include you in the buy, just trying to help.

Did I mention these guys rock?

I'm sure I can get this information from GP Suspension but they aren't open today so I thought I would pose this question here. In the box with my forks and rear shock they included the old springs (front and back), what appears to be the original fork internals as well as seals. I can understand the spring and original internals (maybe I would want to go back to the stock setup, right, that'll happen) but why the seals?

Maybe this is SOP for getting suspension work but I wouldn't know. I guess I'm just wondering if anyone has any advice about whether or not I should hang onto this stuff.

I assume us locals can just make an appointment and ride in?
To avoid having my bike out of commision while shipping forks back and forth, I discussed this with them. I'll be riding down when my Ohlins shock arrives and having them swap out parts while I wait. They'll also help setup the new suspension before I ride off. The small additional cost will be worth it to me.

Just got the new Olins installed. I will be calling to set up a ride in to have the front done.

Thanks Dale for setting the group buy up.

Just got my double Penske installed on my Speed Triple and took it down to the GP Suspension shop to have them set it up. Ended up the spring was too soft so they cleaned off a lift and installed a heavier spring will I waited. These guys will go the extra mile for you to set things up right. The new shock has made a big difference in handling and road feel. Thanks GP Suspension and Warchild.

Bill
