I thought this board was a little more grown up than many others that I have seen. I have totally lost respect for the FJR board. Why haven't any grownups on this board put the children in there place.
Flame away little boys, you'll only make my case.
Who you callin' immature?!

P.S. In "their" place. The hard part of being a scolder (like I am, BTW, and this is why I know), is that you have to set the example of being perfect all the time. It's hard for me to be perfect all the time, god knows it, but I manage some how.

Nothing to add. I just had to be the guy to push this thread to over 100 replies. :p

I'm going to sum up what I've got out of this:

1. Geezer2 dropped his bike, instead of laying it down.

2. Some people think you should never lay a bike down, and believe people who do ride cruisers.

3. Marines can't think, but can shoot.

4. There are some good accident-sketch-artists on the forum.

5. When somebody drops a bike, instead of laying it down, everyone gets really pissed.

6. Laying a bike down merits 100 reposts.

What have I missed?

Was this kinda like the half-time report..? ;)

What would give you that impression? I followed this board for several weeks before I officially joined up. It was pretty obvious to me who it was full of (and what *they* are often full of :) ) and just as obvious how to deal with it. You seriously can't expect a large group of faceless, mostly unknown (to each other) strangers to behave in the way *you* seem to want them to, can you?

You join, you take the good with the bad. If you don't like it, then you don't come back to the board. Simple really.

Flame away little boys, you'll only make my case.
And you think acting just like those you accuse of being "little boys" is going to affect change? You're in for serious disappointments as long as you continue to use message boards of *any* kind if that's how you handle these kinds of situations.

Man.... I guess I am just a stupid old man! I certainly never thot my post would stir this kinda ****!!! I joined here for the knowledge, comraderie and understanding. Instead, I get critizism (sic), what I thought was a great site of the brotherhood of bikers, seems to have left a bitter taste in my mouth. Yeah, I know, "would I like some WHINE with my cheese". Some of you showed wisdom, thank you. some of you showed immaturity, GROW UP! MSF course, maybe, maybe not! either way you can shove that little paper card up your a-s! Certaimly no great loss if I move on. Thanks to some of you, the rest can kiss my ***!!!!
I'm sorry guys, I cant hold back my opinion on what happened in this string.

I agree with Geezer 100%. Most of you guys were way out of line giving him crap over this. Even if he did do something wrong, this string is a perfect example of how immature, insensitive and juvenile many people on internet forums are today.

Man am I ever sorry that I used improper terminology. In my days of beginning to ride "layed her down meant we dropped it", anything beyond that was a total, the bike, you or both. Sorry for not keepin up with the new phrasing. I never got phonics. But it is damn nice to see another mature response. There may be hope for me here yet. The Geez

Tsk tsk tsk.

<shaking head>

You're really going to team up with the person that just got a slap-down by several other posters? Do you read and comprehend all the posts in this thread or just the ones you like?

First, to be clear to all my friends out there, we now have 2 Geezers on the forum. Geezer and Geezer2. I did not drop my bike, not recently anyway, and I am OK. :D
To Geezer2, it sounds like you had one of those situations where you were barely moving and had to stop immediately. You probably turned your bars to the side at the same time that you grabbed the brakes. That will put you on the ground real quick. You are a lot more forgiving than I could be; I would be pissed at someone who tried to turn left across my bow.

Geezer, thats it exactly, not sorry for my actions! Everyone rode off safe and sound. That's what's important to me. Believe me, I'm not w/o sin and sure as hell am not about to cast any stones. Thanks from another Geezer.

Remember that Far Side cartoon where the dog runs across the street through heavy traffic to the other side, and the dogs waiting there say, "Okay! Sparky's in the club!"

Well, in my experience, becoming a member of this forum ain't just about signing up and posting a few comments. Before you can really be in the club, you have to open some seemingly innocuous thread, like, say, about knee pucks :glare: , get dog-piled till you say "F**k all of you!" and storm off for a cool down period of hours, days, or in my case, months.

Geez is in the club! :clapping:

LOL Yeah - when picking sides, try to figure out who is going to win and join them. :)
Its easy to fallow the crowed, it takes courage to lead.

And most of you did exactly what I thought you would do; with a little provocation, you proved my point. :p

yeah sure... <_< you ***** troll. <_<

OK, I gotta say this is getting kind of amuzing. Man if only I'd have known in advance what I was gonna start.....maybe I should have stayed in the background. Nah! Thats no fun. This whole incident was predestined to happen... therefore it was totally my fault for not wearing my turbin that day. I TAKE FULL RESPONSIBILIY!

That being said, can't we all just get along? Perhaps a group circle jerk....any of you young pups wanna volunteer for pivot man?
