Mmmmmm.....I feel the love gunny. Just remember... a drawing program can be a dangerous thing.Yeah, I get that now. But it sure took an awful lot of my high quality artwork to make everyone else understand.Lay off the geezer2. He has explained his actions...done.
He stopped and "dropped" his bike to avoid some knuckleheads blowing turning in front of him while he was yielding to pedestrians.
No hard feelin's Geezer2.
Nuthin' but love.
35 years and never laid it down...WOW!!!! Gotta say imho you're one very lucky individual. And I truly hope your luck holds up. I've been riding since I was 18. Since that time I've totalled 2 bikes and was lucky enough to survive. Both instances were rider error...no, rider cockyness. Either way, as the the old saying goes, "There's two kinds of riders, those who have been down and those who will go down". Wish you many years of riding w/o encountering the unexpected or unknown. Skill doesn't always save you.Man.... I guess I am just a stupid old man! I certainly never thot my post would stir this kinda ****!!! I joined here for the knowledge, comraderie and understanding. Instead, I get critizism (sic), what I thought was a great site of the brotherhood of bikers, seems to have left a bitter taste in my mouth. Yeah, I know, "would I like some WHINE with my cheese". Some of you showed wisdom, thank you. some of you showed immaturity, GROW UP! MSF course, maybe, maybe not! either way you can shove that little paper card up your a-s! Certaimly no great loss if I move on. Thanks to some of you, the rest can kiss my ***!!!!
Typical Cruiser rider response. The law of natural selection will take care of you, looks like sooner or later with your attitude.
Look, Squid-nugget, we're trained to react to situations (normally by kicking something's ***). I realize that you wouldn't know much 'bout that, but trust me, thinking only impedes your ability to react. You know, sorta like the way youSee jarhead, don't be so quick to jump to conclusions. Fuking marines. No thinky.ridecrash.
Geez-
A low speed drop is a WHOLE lot different than "had to lay her down to avoid a crash". The former is understandable, especially in your mishap. The ****** that pulled in front of you doesn't deserve to ride and should get his *** kicked. The latter is often used as an excuse by people who don't possess the skills required to avoid a collision and yes, they would learn that by taking a basic rider course . Sorry that you got all worked up about it, but I get worked up at the idea of riders thinking that laying a bike down is an acceptable accident avoidance maneuver because they don't know any better  Don't fault me for being passionate about safe riding.
You're right, skill doesn't always save you, but your chances of avoiding a crash to begin with are much greater with skill and practice than with ignorance
As I said before....and I meant it....I'm damn glad you're okay
Well, I say welcome to tha forum!Rode to Lake Chelan on friday to visit my kid. Got 51 mpg on the way up (calculator). Ran 65 to 70 with an occasional pass. Great weekend, however while downtown waiting for a crosswalk to clear, I'm in the intersection, a kid and his girlfiend on a sport bike decide to make a left turn in front of me. Laid it down (gently) to avoid knocking them off their bike. A few scratches to the mirror and left bag. Glad I put those sliders on last week. They took the hit. Got 47.4 mpg on the way home ridin 80 most the way and bucking some serious winds. Damn, I love this bike....scratches and all, still goes like a bat outta hell. Somebody stop me. HeHe
You just had to break out the pictures and crayons. No wonder us Marines catch so much crap.Is this it?(Hint: You're the blue one)
Thanks Solo, You are a wise man.I have two things to say Geezer. (1) You sure did generate a **** storm of posts! (2) Glad your bike suffered only minor damages and you didn't pull every muscle in your body with your get off. Make it three things. I like your attitude about what happened. Sometimes in this life it just isn't worth getting worked up over minor injustices. As a comparison, consider how folks got worked up about your report. Life's too short...
I'm sorry guys, I cant hold back my opinion on what happened in this string.Man.... I guess I am just a stupid old man! I certainly never thot my post would stir this kinda ****!!!
