Pretty straight forward. I was wondering if this practice is as common as it seems. Maybe I overestimate how many members go on rides together.

I met skooterG once at the bike show in Phoenix , had hoped to do some ridin' with, but have never ridden with anyone from this site, that'll change at WFO but would be nice to meet & ride with the local owners also (those that ride at a spirited pace) . . .

Met a guy up here (Keystone, SD) from Florida that had been at SWFOG this year that uses the site some . . . .

(Edit)

I met beemerdons on another website .

I mostly use Myspace for finding people to stalk! Although I did meet some misfits on here too: Scab, Fencer, Hauilin Ashe and an ExtremeMarine!

No seriously, this truely is the eHarmony of FJR'ism! We not only have the same bike, we share all of lifes wonderful promises together.

That almost sounds like the making of a "Lifetime for Women" movie.

I have met some great people from this site. :)

Meet people..absolutely.

I've even used the forum to figure out a couple of people that I never ever want to meet! ;)

They tend to be on the Member Map on remote islands in the middle of oceans......and no not Thug....he's on a continent and one I'd like to meet.

The Azores are great islands with wonderful people. They have twisty roads. Just don't ride after lunch there :lol

I first used this site to spend twice as much farkle money as originally intended. Then I used it to discover EOM, where I saw my very first "other" FJR. Prior to EOM-06, I thought I was the last of my kind.

Now I've come to realize that I AM a PuhTerrorDacTire.

:)

One thing I think is cool is that not that many FJR's on the road and when you do see/meet it is a special occassion. That's why WFO and similar events are even that much more special. But some of the people riding these things are pretty darn scary......just ask my wife.  :dirol: PM. <><

I found a fellow forum member just a few blocks away and have been on a couple of rides with Barabus. Have met, and ridden with Fairlaner and Russ. Have enjoyed chatting via PM with several new friends.

Recently, when I told some friends at work that I was having a BBQ at my house, they asked who was coming over. Oh, just a bunch of guys I met on the Internet. That raised some eyebrows.

We're sorry. Did that have any long lasting effects?

Unfortunately it seems to always leave a deep emotional scar when you meet SkooterG. Some have met him but were so deeply scarred they have mentally blocked it out of their minds.
FIXED!!!
FIXED ? Now you're honoring Him with a capitol S ? Ouch . . .

As far as long lasting effects, I was lucky enough to have ridden the FJR there so a good blast down the road help shake it off...

He seemed allright but then again He was'nt on the bike . . . . :acute: :lol2: :lol2:

I haven't met anyone yet, but then again, I'm new. Hopefully that will change in time.
