As far as long lasting effects, I was lucky enough to have ridden the FJR there so a good blast down the road help shake it off... He seemed allright but then again He was'nt on the bike . . . . :acute: :lol2: :lol2:
On the road you stand a 50%-50% chance because you can steer clear of him or take another route. Its the parking that can be dangerous.....

Back on track with Andrew's poll questions:

Heck yeah! I've met bunches of people through the forum and attending the rides posted in the "Ride Planning" section. I have friends from the first WFO (#2) that I attended and from the many rides I've ben on.

This is my first and only forum experience, and have met some great like minded people to ride with. Looking forward to EOM.

Officer: So who were those other riders, the ones who failed to stop.

You: No idea, I met them at the last gas station.

I select my riding partners according to the character of the person, not according to their choice of ride. I get nearly all the riding companions I have time for locally.

I would not mind meeting other FJR owners as I've done with my other bike; I've met and ridden with lots of them!

A few nights ago while attending a social event in town, evenings in olde sevile square, i saw a 2003 FJR parked in front of a local eatery/bar just across the street from the event....after the show i saw this fella about to put his hemet on and walked up to him and introduced myself as a fellow FJR pilot. as it turns out he had PM'd me a few months back to let me know that he too lived in Pensacola.

We havent had the chance to ride yet, but one day soon.

Nope, I haven't ridden with any forum members...yet. And I didn't know about the ride planning section either. But then again, I'm new too.

Well, we don't ride with fuzzy people anyways....too much static electricity...and possibilities of lightning strikes.

I first rode with 12 FJR guys I met on the fjrowners site back in Oct 02. have been doing it every march and oct since. Well except the 2 years I was w/o a bike, but thats changed now. LOL

Andrew: My Arizona FJR riding comrades from this site are SkooterG, vectervp1, Badcat and FJRobert. I used the Ride Planning section to set up our Zonies run to Death Valley last January and that was very well attended. I am looking forward to meeting Richard - Fairlaner and his Southern California FJR Crew in Flagstaff on the evening of July 25; I will be riding up with them to Park City where I will be rooming with mi amigo Arturo Montoya.

As one of my best riding buddies, I introduced him to my long road M/C Expeditions into Mexico, I have to defend SkooterG's riding abilities. On the six runs south of the border with Greg we have racked up 12,000 kilometers and he never once pulled a hare brained move out on the road; remarkable for a Navy squid. The only dicey incident was in Cantina Zapata in Guerrero *****, Baja California Sur when he was putting the full court press on Catia, the sixteen year old niece and barmaid of the owner Miguel. Miguel was keeping one eye on Marbach grinding up against his niece and the other on the single shot 16 gauge scattergun that he had mounted on the backbar. As an former US Army soldier the hairs were standing up on the back of my neck, I figured I would toss a barstool at Miguel if he drew down a bead on GM. Luckily, a pack of thirsty braceros entered the cantina and drew Miguel's attention away form SkooterG!

Jesu Cristo, she was only dieciseis! To top it off, on our return trip from San Jose del Cabo "Lover Boy" insisted on stopping in GN to ply Catia with his romantic charms once again. Que lastima. Mi vato loco SkooterG, "El Pendejo"!

I've met a few of the people her. Some by planning, some by luck. So far most have been good people and it's ALWAYS been fun.

:)

Is that some kind of Paleontological joke about FJR riders?

Nope, I think he's talking about himself. As the boards official tire tester/abuser, I think he is more than qualified. PM. <>< :p

The answer is yes and yes most of the people that I have ridden with have been from the forum and on forum rides.

The forum is a common meeting place and lets no barriers stand in the way for fun get togethers on a bike

weekend rider :)

Yeah, the static kind of sucks but the lightning strikes add a level of excitement and serve to keep you on your toes. :p :focus:

 Was able to meet up with a bunch of FJR riders last year in October in Russelville, ARK. I believe there were about 25 to 27 off us thanks to the hard work of Mark and Michele in the DFW area.

Looking forward to the October get together in Russelville again this year as I already have the days off.

Great roads, especially when guided by Tony and Francis O., owners of Yamaha Sportscenter in Texarkana who know those roads like the back of their hands.

Pretty straight forward. I was wondering if this practice is as common as it seems. Maybe I overestimate how many members go on rides together.
I met airboss in S.llinois...

Didn't really meet - he was stopping for fuel on an LD ride - I noticed the sleek look of an FJR and went over to talk. He didn't have much time and that was it.

Does this count??

One of the best parts about the forum is finally getting to meet up with some of these nut cases. SFO Spring Thing was cool, and so was a meet up in Cedar Key. Found 'em both in the ride planning section. Found four local guys too!

The Forum Rocks!
