All we need is a nice warm rain to clean things up and it's ride time!

But it has rained like a...Nevermind. It has rained so much that I saw an old man with a big wooden boat loading up the animals two by two.
This comment reminds me of this Bill Cosby routine called Noah from the 1960's. Darn funny especially the part of about raining for 30 days and 30 night and waiting for the sewers to back up.
It's nice to be in a group where folks remember the days when Bill Cosby was on the licorice pizza.

"Riiiiiiiight"

I managed a few rides in the early part of December but nothing since then. Temperatures will be OK tomorrow and Monday (43 °F or so) but:

  1. There is a 50 ft. stretch of snow and ice between the garage and the road
  2. There is way too much salt on the roads. Aluminum bike parts don't like salt
We need to get a good rain to get some of the sand and salt off the roads. Cool and dry, I can tolerate but wet/salt/sand/snow means I leave the bike parked. It likely won't be going anywhere except around the shop (have to do some maintenance stuff on it) until March. We often see major snow events in the early part of March - hoping for a spring like last year!

50? days (hopefully) and counting...

Pants! We kid because with love!! If you weren't a good guy, there would be nothing but, yawns and the sound of crickets on this threat. Hang in there Buddy! The good stuff is just around the corner. In the meantime, a good remedy for cabin fever is a taste of some Patron Reposado with a nice Single Malt Whiskey Chaser!! It won't be too long before you can Ride like the Wind!

Grouchy here... 65 degrees, two bikes in the garage, and I can't ride.

Ain't gonna ride a sold bike, and the wing is only half assembled parts in the process of being painted..

Hey it's all good, I can take it as well as I can dish it.

The showers held out a bit longer than expected, so i snuck out and managed a paulty 100 miles. It wasn't my best ride, but in a fit of withdrawal, it will have to do.

Now I can hang on unto next weekend, my anticipated first adventure of 2013!

Yeah I ran into a similar situation at Tenya Lake in Yosemite NP a few years ago. A hard body among the granite rocks.

Okay, the rain is falling harder and harder, the temp is dropping and my patience is wearing very thin. If I don't get some time in a boat, on a bike, or behind a firearm I am going to... Deep breaths, deep breaths. I think I will just spend some of my money on modifications, yeah that's the ticket. Some of those nice reflective stickers that cover the back of the saddlebags looks like a cheap and easy way to make myself feel better.

Been darn chilly out west with low's around 20.

Jumped on the Hippo at 11 am and 37 degrees. Dropped down 2,500' in elevation to the central valley and a toasty 45 degrees. 180 miles by the time I got home to 37 degrees. Not a single bug on me or the bike-priceless!

Opened my front door and saw this.

And my drive (steeper than it looks).

And it's still snowing.

Sh*t.

I road 300 miles through WV on Saturday.

Saw a high of 64 sunny degrees.

Incredibly fortunate for this time of year.

We in the west coast of the USA are freezing. The jet stream is coming Canada right down I-5 all the way to Beemerdon's in Chandler Arizona. That is very odd. Usually the jet goes from west to east.

With the jet coming from the north the Zonies are freezing. Zonies pipes are bursting cause the design standards are not up to snuff and the the non-indigenous sun loving plants are croaking.

Nice to hear the the east coast is nice and you got out for a ride. Any pictures to warm our cold hearts?

What a bunch of *******, whining about freezing temps. Minus 22 here this morning, 6-8 inches of fresh snow over the weekend. Heated grips aren't enough. Instead of riding, we go skiing, snowmobiling or ice fishing. March is just around the corner.

I like this factoid: Lowest temp ever recorded in the Lower 48: -70 gegrees at Montana's Rogers Pass (west of Great Falls on Hwy 200). Our highest temps recorded in Montana: 117 at Glendive and Medicine Lake; wrap your head around this - a temperature spread of 187 degrees!

P.S. Forecasters say we may see 37 by Friday - the first thaw since just before Christmas.
