Perhaps a list of Poles and Slavs? But wouldn't that be political?

Oh, wait. Maybe that Pole meant a poll?

Let's start a poll to see if we should make a list of Poles.
I hate polls!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The last poll to try to pick a date for the Owosso Tech Day turned into a raging dog **** chusterfuk.

I do know Photoshop and if you *******s don't apologize I am going to have a jpeg of BeemerDons pole dancing. That will teach you.

...oh that Yamaha hat has sure been around! JSNS.

**Afterwards** I hear you counted up yur dollas only to find 4 bucks and you found out it was American $, so you tossed it back in the crowd and Don caught it. Guess he gets the laugh on both ends of this one.

Was he a gay Polish priest? And did the FJR have a car tire?

(And let's keep this thread on-topic, huh?)

(And do we still "do" Fridays around here?)

I have been watching this thread since it began and I have to say, I don't get it.

I recognize that the moderation is a little heavy handed at times, and even insulting when your post is labeled 'crap', but that won't happen if we simply play by the rules. If the rules themselves are the problem, then we should certainly discuss a change, but I haven't read anyone proposing a rule change.

The conversation so far has been more about the moderation style, which is strongly influenced by the personality of the individual moderators. You may not like one or more of the moderators, but the job is necessary and someone has to do it. I don't intend to volunteer.

I also don't object to civil disobedience if you think your cause is just and you are willing to accept the consequences. But don't intentionally break the rules and then wonder why you got your hand slapped. The same goes if you break the rules inadvertently. The penalty seems silly to me, but I don't think a warning note from a moderator or even a timeout is very painful to withstand. People are taking this stuff too seriously. It won't go on your permanent record.

There are no entitlements on this site (nor should there be), the rules are posted, you have choice (whether to come and participate or not); just doesn't seem that nebulous to me. That being said, I support the moderators and administrators; there was some pretty silly stuff before the crack-down, personally I ignored it (others spoke up and said they had enough and wished for some intervention (request was honored; just following the already posted rules) and that's when the whiners (previous with almost 'carte-blanche') cried foul. Well, digressions, potty-humor, foul language (lighten up, I was a sailor so it's not something I haven't heard; just sophomoric in most cases), even some mean-spiritiveness, etc. was just enough. Thanks to the leaders (of this site), I appreciate the effort and still pick and choose my participation; that is my right.

Creating and running several websites, this makes me crack a smile :)

"Rules" and the "Internet" should never be used in the same paragraph let alone the same sentence. In today's society, it's hard enough to show and get respect in a face to face situation. The Internet is such a joke especially when you also ad serious to the mix. What's even more of a joke is eMail. So abused, agh! it could make for such a great and trusted tool... well, thanks to spammers it's a joke as well. The Internet is a good resource for knowledge (good or sometimes not so) and entertainment. This site has both :)

Some people wish to fool themselves, so be it. But rules and the Internet will never be anything, and the FCC (Uncle Charlie) knows this now as the white flag clearly has flown for the past several years.

We had an unlike button, and a bunch of people with negative reputation. I recall Radiohowie had a thread about it, when he reached about -80. A short time later, the only feedback available was positive, and everyone became a Forum Oracle, ahhh!.

I find it interesting that there are people complaining about moderators when, in my observations of this forum, the worst behavior is of the members themselves. This is especially evident in threads where someone (usually new) asks a question and is immediately pig piled upon with holier than thou derision. Maybe for failing to search (or maybe they just didn't do a "proper" search) on a topic or for asking a question deemed stupid by others here. Many times someone of a more civil nature will step in or answer with a calm answer or solution or reminder of the rules, but it seems it's hardly ever by a moderator. It's a shame with such good information here that many people are felt so unwelcome and not by the mods.

It is nice when sanity and courtesy prevail. I'm glad to say I've seen both on many occasions from many people here, including the mods.

So I'm gonna stick around here, continue to avoid posts that I know will piss me off, and harass those with skin thick enough to take it an dish it back.
Least any of you nitwits missed these fine nuggets brought to you by one of our resident philosophers back on item #17 I am bringing them back

for your consideration. Live by those two chunks of wisdom and the need for these types of posts will be greatly diminished.

Of course the nitwits part is only directed at the thicker skinned members. :^)

I am sad to say that the further down the tubes this one goes, the more my opinion is swayed back towards the Admins. Perhaps I had forgotten how far out of line a thread could drift if left unsupervised.
RFH, I have been thinking the same thing while watching the direction of this thread. I hate to say this, but it seems that once it becomes clear that the admins have adopted a hands off policy on this (any?) thread, it gets larded with gratuitous content that veers from less than clever to childish, is probably offensive to some, and goes well beyond just being off topic. I can filter it and just cease reading as I scroll, but that was never what I intended to defend.

We have met the enemy and he/she/it is us.

For Zeus's sake, can't we all try to find common ground, courtesy and consideration for one another here? We've been beating on the admins about heavy handed moderation and to their credit, they have obligingly let us have our say. So then we get emboldened and prove up the extremes that they are trying to mitigate?!?

There must be a middle ground that both sides of this debate can agree to help find. After you or I type it, do we really need to click "Post"? Is it really that funny to those who will read it or am I just bored and taking up my time on the internet?

Wheaties -- it's your thread. If you're lurking, what say you? (And yes, follow SacramentoMike's lead and get yer *** back here -- you're one of the good guys here.)
