Joe, was there a "the rest of the story" to this thread? Did the fitting work? I'm onto my own design with this in mind and am on the edge of my seat
I'm happy with it. It hasn't leaked a drop since the install. You’ll want to use an auxiliary fuel pump with it. The internal diameter is a bit small for gravity feed.Joe, was there a "the rest of the story" to this thread? Did the fitting work? Great! That was definitely in the plan already.I'm happy with it. It hasn't leaked a drop since the install. You’ll want to use an auxiliary fuel pump with it. What about this fitting? If I read it right, you made this yourself and could sell it for $65? Or did I not read that correctly? And IIRC, I definitely need this fitting because the stock one will be off angle enough to interfer with the heat shield.
I'm in, $65 seems a little spendy but I guess it's a one off so that's OK And did anybody ever verify the fuel tank/pump from the Triumph is the same as the FJR? I think I can get a better deal on used stuff from our Triumph dealer.
Ding ding ding ding!!! I think we may have a winner.Has anyone fitting an auxiliary tank on a US MK1 considered using a Euro Mk1 tank in the process, they already have a return tube welded into the tank as standard. The Euro Mk1 tank will bolt straight onto US MK 1 and accept the US MK1 fuel pump so you have a ready made bulkhead fitting. May cost too much to import and the colour won't match but just a thought from here in UK.
