Interest in a 2009 SWFOG gathering?, Page, AZ Late September early October?
In! About 69%.

It won't be too hot, will it?
https://www.canyon-country.com/lakepowell/weather.htm Old Michael: The September Hi for Lake Powell - Page is 88 with a Lo of 60; October Hi for Page-Lake Powell is 77 with a low of 46; Water temperatures of Lake Powell 76 and 69 respectively.

Since we're there in the last weekend of September I am guessing 82 for a Hi and 63 for the Lo; but remember, during the day we'll be riding to much higher elevations such as to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, and to Bryce and Zion Parks.

Now, as you well know, whenever you are within 50 feet of SkooterG please factor in another 10 degrees for his hot air BS!!

Also, in a 150 mile radius of Page, plan on afternoon monsoon thunderstorms popping up at 1400 hours daily like clockwork!

Hmmmm....depending on my job schedule and overseas travel, I should be able to make it. Put me down at 40%.

Regards,

Davy

"Badcat Burk: I would be more than happy being the Master of Rides, but you could also assign that to SkooterG and I would also be happy to take over Master of Fishing. Do we have riders interested in fishing? I love fly fishing and ocean fishing!!"

I think you might agree that fishing hook preperation would be a job for ScooterG. He would be the Master of that......get the joke now!!! Sorry, couldn't resist...

I am planning to attend the 2009 SW-FOG. The Sept dates would work best, but Oct is doable. I think I have attend all of the SW-FOG's. Wouldn't want to miss this one. All have been VERY good.Bruce

Bruce,

It would be great to see you again. I am hoping this works out better than Tombstone for riding. I enjoyed the people but the weather sucked.

I count 9 riders showing interest in a 2009 SWFOG. I am hoping for a few more but I am going to start the legwork of getting this off the ground. Luckily we have Wetdog that lives in Page so he will be a huge help.

Summary: Page, AZ, September 24th-27th, the weather is great that time of year, there are some great roads nearby, the South Rim of the Grand Canyon is close, other great FJR riders will be there......what else do you need??

Actually did get the fishing hook preparation joke earlier, when you posted insinuating he was a Masturbator: But you don't know SkooterG as well as I do! Why do you think that vectervp1 and I call him "Sin Trabajo?" He's way too lazy to jack off!

I have met ScooterG twice. He seemed like a good guy. I guess I have a lot to learn!!!

https://www.leesferry.com/index.htm For those of you that enjoy fly fishing and can stay for Sunday night: I'll organize a trip with local guide for twenty mile stretch of the Colorado River between Glen Canyon Dam Spillway and Navajo Bridge.

I've lived in Arizona for two decades and while I've fished most of our state; fly fishing for trout in the White Mountains and Mogollon Rim, plus keeping my boat at my Lake Havasu Islander Resort vacation home going after bass with bait and lures; I have never fished this stretch of the Colorado River. But I have heard amazing stories of giant trout in these deep pools.

This'd be an 8-hour day trip starting at sunrise from Lee's Ferry: They power our boat with a party of five up to the Spillway and we drift down the river fishing; and the local guides will stop our boat at number of sandbars to fish active current flow.

When we reach Navajo Bridge they power back to Lee's Ferry. Could even stay the night there and cook up our fresh trout.

Your instincts are correct. He is a nice guy...don't let these master baiters and their insinuations steer you wrong.

:)

He is...after all from Wheaton.
MY PUBLIC APOLOGY: Late last night I received a phone call from Herr Marbach, and hombre, did I ever catch hell for making the "alleged" misstatement that SkootyG was too damn lazy to beat off! After twenty minutes of being harangued by him, I am certainly man enough to correct any mistakes that I may have made concerning this troubling issue.

CORRECTION: SkooterG IS NOT too lazy to spank his monkey!

I wanna come too. Don't forget that the North Rim of the canyon has cute little cabins at 2004 prices. It's a good way to stare back at the South Rim lights at night.

Mark me down presently at 25% commit.

After hanging out with much of this same group at the AZBEEMER Roadrunner rally in Heber a little over a week ago, I can't think of any better group of riders to be around. This ride will be a guaranteed great time!

If I survive the 09 IBR and my AE does not die AGAIN, I am 60% of being a player, if welcome to join!! :fan_1: :banghead:

Burk, I have a friend that rides a Victory that might come,

if that is no problem?

Joe

Ok, since I'm relocating to Gunnison/Crested Butte, CO. within the next few weeks.

I'm in for, oh let's say 70%.

Any you Phoenix area guys up for a ride Saturday (5-30) to Page to scout out a motel?? This is shaping up well!
