Interest in a 2009 SWFOG gathering?, Page, AZ Late September early October?
In! About 69%.

It won't be too hot, will it?
https://www.canyon-country.com/lakepowell/weather.htm Old Michael: The September Hi for Lake Powell - Page is 88 with a Lo of 60; October Hi for Page-Lake Powell is 77 with a low of 46; Water temperatures of Lake Powell 76 and 69 respectively.

Since we're there in the last weekend of September I am guessing 82 for a Hi and 63 for the Lo; but remember, during the day we'll be riding to much higher elevations such as to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, and to Bryce and Zion Parks.

Now, as you well know, whenever you are within 50 feet of SkooterG please factor in another 10 degrees for his hot air BS!!

Also, in a 150 mile radius of Page, plan on afternoon monsoon thunderstorms popping up at 1400 hours daily like clockwork!
Based on the above, do you think I should buy/bring a rainsuit for this trek?

I always carry raingear, but thats just me. Probably not a bad idea to have one available.

cometman: Rained here in Central Arizona last night like a cow pissing on a flat rock! Haven't seen a monsoon downpour like it in a number of years here in the Sonoran desert. I'm with Badcat, bring it along in case you need it at Grand Canyon.

Thanks for the warning. Will stow the rain gear, just in case.

Jill & Others: Burk and I should have mentioned this before - PM rain showers at the North Rim of GC are standard routine!!!

Whoa, whoa, WHOA!

This changes everything!

Now what are we "made of sugar" types supposed to do?

Hit the Road Jack and I are going to have to rethink things.
Some sugar, some sh!t... either way, some will melt in the heavy rain... :p

It may also be a bit chilly, so warmer gear may be a good idea.

Whoa is right!

It never rains in Californya...

Actually, I do have raingear, but haven't had occasion to wear it since leaving Florida in the mid 90's!

I researched the historical weather data for the Page, AZ area for the annual dates of the planned SW-FOG.

Chances are good that the weather will be darn-near perfecto!

Now I'm really stoked!
