The date is 5 digit, for example 02512 means the 25th week of the year in 2012.
I have 4 digit codes where they belong, after the DOT code. If they use week #s then it is the 8th and 11th weeks of 2012, so Feb 2012 and March 2012. My other new tires, Conti Motions, definitely show week # and year: 3512 and 4612 (35th week of 2012 and 46th week of 2012)

I have no self control. I just ordered a 2nd set. At least I know if I don't like 'em I can sell 'em to George!
I know what you mean about the self control. If I hadn't already purchased four tires for the 999 and FJR and still need a pair for the Tenere I would be buying a second set but my motorcycle budget is shot for the summer already and I haven't even had them out of the garage yet.

Four tires for the 999. Guessing that would be three rears and a front?

Nope, the four tires are, one Pilot Power rear for the 999, and a rear PR2 and a set of BT23GTs for the FJR.

I was assembling my NoMar tire changer yesterday and evaluating tires on the families bikes and noticed the front on the 999 will need replacing before attending Zulasky advanced rider school in April and both on tires on the Tenere are also soon in need of attention. Ouch! I should have that NoMar changer paid off in savings in no time if I don't go broke buying tires first.

If you don't get tires in this closeout, you could by Shinkos...I hear they last forever. ;)

But you really shouldn't do that. You should buy more of these tires...really.

Thanks for the advice Wheaton, but what I really need is a loan.

Dohh! I just ordered a Pilot Power front for the 999. Now I just need two tires for the Tenere (if I can figure out what type to buy) and I should make it though the summer.

..and it's not like I don't have a 1 set of PR3's and 2 sets of PR2's at the ready. I like having noobie tires in reserve, bought on the cheap!

I was tempted to get two sets, but with two bikes now, mileage on each is cut in half. Tenere tires are up next...gonna need something on the rear soon.

023GTs arrived yesterday!

Are you still on the original rear and if so how many miles did you get? What are you thinking of for replacement Tenere tires?

Still on the original Metzlers coming up on 3500 miles. From the way the rear is wearing, I'm estimating it'll go 5000, maybe 5500 miles before it's toast. Front is wearing well, no cupping and no complaints so I'll keep it for now. To wear out the OE front, I'll put a 'stone on the back. Long term, jury is still out as I haven't decided which rubber to run.

This is what I get when I try to order....guess they're sold out!

Oh no, Error! 404!

I just realized I didn't get a shirt with my order either. I called, and spoke to "Nick" I think. He said they were having a glitch in the program, and was kind enough to take my size and send out a shirt.
