OK, what is your first? The FJR isn't my first pick when I walk out to the garage.
I have to say no, adding that no other manufacturer makes the perfect bike either. Like all bikes, the FJR is a compromise. It's weather protection, power and smoothness make it a reasonably good touring bike, though not as comfortable or accomodating as a Wing, Ultra Glide, K 1200 LT, etc., particularly for 2-up touring Those same qualities make it an adequate commuter, though it's weight, extremely top-heavy nature, binary throttle control, and high seat height make it less than perfect for urban stop-and-go riding. At the same time, it's power and handling characteristics seem to work well for the go-fast, boy- (and girl-) racers among us who need a more all around bike than a Gixxer or a Busa.Is the FJR the culmination of your dreams in a motorcycle?
What model and year is that bike? It is just beautiful. Here's the bike that started it (50-some years ago) for me:
It's the faired version of the early '50s Vincent motorcycle (England). 1000cc V-Twin; Black Knight -- faired Rapide ('cooking' model) or Black Prince -- faired Black Shadow (55hp, 'Hi-Perf' model). What model and year is that bike? It is just beautiful.
Nice -- , but I was thinking along the lines of MV, Aprilia, Bimoto -- you know,, all the ones I can't affordYes for me ------------------------------- still, .. I'd like a sportbike next to it one day.
