Just a reminder that if you are buying something on the forum to make sure that you are getting what you are actually asking for and paying for. I recently purchased an item from a "respected" forum member and was shocked when I received a bag full of assorted useless parts that was totally different than what I had advertised for in the first place. Now I either have to take the time to repackage the item, wait for a ******* refund, and then pony up shipping costs back to him or just eat it and call it another expensive life lesson....There's a sucker born every minute I guess. After making many "honest" deals on here with friendly folks I wasn't expecting to be blindsided. What goes around comes around.

Signed,

Pissed in Sag Harbor

That sucks and it's surprising to me that someone would do that. I've picked up a few things from members off here and have never been less than 100% satisfied... The threat of public flogging on here I would think deters people, but I guess that's not always true.

So, ... we know it's NOT ShinyPartsUp.....

.......or barb.

sorry to hear that also. I've purchased and sold items on diff motorcycle forums. have a purchase going on now and the person doesn't use paypal, which kind of worries me - as that is a kind of way of protecting yourself.

Have you contacted the seller to let them know your dissatisfaction? It could help, you never know.

good luck with it.

I did, and in fairness to the member he offered a refund, but the transaction shouldn't have taken place in the first place. He sold me a peanut butter sandwich on day old bread when I had ordered a steak.

If it was a total misreprisentation of what you were looking for, :angry2: then he should spring for the return postage....

TheAxeman, is this just "A Failure to Communicate"? If he gives you a full refund and pays for the return postage, perhaps is was just a misunderstanding between two parties as to the FJR items and their real true condition. I buy goat cheese from ShinyPartsUp and Canadian bacon from Barb all of the time and I have never had a problem with the transactions! jes' sayin' and nuff' said!

That really does suck. A thieve born every minute or sooner these days.

Sorry to hear that, but Thanks for the heads up. :angry2:

Maybe you should post their name as a warning to others if you don't get this resolved, like a bad credit rating, you don't screw with fourm members or you will have a bad mark. E-Bay has a feedback rating to tell others of good and bad transactions.

Until proven otherwise it may be best to assume that this has been a major misunderstanding6 between what the buyer asked and what the seller heard. It does look like the seller is willing to make restitution, though the buyer will still be out some aggravation.

My experience on this site! Excellent beyond belief! My first purchase was a Corbin heated seat, both rider and passenger with a small trunk. I live in British Columbia, Canada and the seller turned out to live in Israel. After we agreed on price and before any money had exchanged hands, he packaged and mailed the seats to me for my inspection. If I was satisfied he would forward banking info so I could complete the deal! I couldn't believe the faith expressed? In his original post he included his original bill of sale showing both the amount he payed and when, so I had expected and it was in very new condition! I have since made many more successful purchases here from other members of the FJR Forum. I hope this unfortunate purchase agreement is one of only a few. Mark

I think I found the "deal gone bad", and I would be very surprised if this is anything but a big misunderstanding.

So long as the seller pays for the reverse shipping and makes a full refund, I think it would have to be chocked up to that.

+1, Gunny; Words of Wisdom from Fred W, I believe I found it also and it strikes me as a big misunderstanding too!

I'm not looking for a lynch mob which is why I didn't name the seller in the first place. I'm simply trying to stress the importance of making sure that what you are asking for is what you are getting. In this particular case it is very hard for me to imagine that I was not clear enough with the seller.
