Got it home, rode it about one mile in its VERY neutered stock form just to see what it was like. OK, it’s a pig, now lets fix it! De-hosed, JD jet kit, 3.5 gal IMS tank, tighten all the kinda-tight fasteners, fiddle with controls and off we go for round 2. Now we're talking!!! Resisting the urge to open her up but now I can feel the true potential.

Hmmm, I need some premium petrol, let's go to town and take the long way home...

Ok Orangevale, now we can get to the good fish'in spots! :yahoo:

Someone misspelled Honda on the gas tank. Uhm, "dual sport"? Is it street legal with THOSE tires? Dang you're making my thoughts about a 650 dualie making echoing noises as they bang around in my head........

I almost forgot.....congratulations! :eek:k:

Legal yes, confidence inspiring on the pavement, no. With the woods being shut down all around me and the county claiming jurisdiction over the good dirt roads I needed a new weapon of fun B) .

Woohoo!!! Nice ride there Uberdual! Them husqy's are something to behold. No. I don't want to race ;-)

I haven't farkled the DRZ one iota. It's still a stock slow bike with a small tank. However, going to the much bigger rear sprocket when I switched to the enduro mode made a HUGE difference.

That said, I bet we can find some decent fishing spots without having to exceed 100 miles from a gas station :)

So, next weekend I'm riding down to your neck of the woods for a ride? Bad news: our camera has been shipped back to Sony for repairs :-(

FUCKERS!!!!
You could be a ****** too you know. It's amazing how little space these bikes take up. They are so skinny and easy to move around!!! You'd hardly notice one in your garage Rich, and...well...let's face it: you deserve to have one.

If you can get used to the "squishy" feeling of those tires you'll find that you can do twisties with the best of 'em. Amazing what a difference 200-300 pounds makes in that regard. And you think you lean on an FJR? Wait till you start scraping those lofty pegs! :clapping:

Late edit: One other thing very important. Take your mirrors off as soon as you're off the pavement. Trust me..... :glare:

Yeah, Rich. You sold the "extra" blackbird so there should be plenty of room. If you'd quit being sucked into the group buys you'd have the money to get a new toy. You just need to put a "block" on any of Warchild's group-buy posts on either of the sites (FJR and Blackbird), and you'd be home free. Then you'll get to explain to Judy why it's sooo important for you to have one to spend time with Andrew and Brad. :no2:

Male bonding?

So am I riding my DRZ to Wilseyville soon? I'll be the guy on the enduro dressed in street gear ;)
Lets do something soon, like this weekend. I know a few roads we can explore and try to work our way up to Bear Valley the back way or until snow stops us. Act now and you will get the added benefit of watching me get use to my bike while falling down repeatedly! :yahoo:

Lookin' good there Brad....brings back some good memories. PM. <>< :D

So where do we start? Perhaps we can meet halfway? Amador City is about halfway. Then we'd be in Skyway's neighborhood. Hmm...Hey Ian! Any good enduro riding around there?

Wait, I now remember not noticing plates on the Husqy. Is that thing registered for the street?

I wasn't thinking of it in a "Brokeback Mountain" fashion. :bleh:

More like a "Boys Day Out" :yahoo: :yahoo:
Nope, that sounds more like "Brokedown Mountain" :D

There's plenty of trails around this area, that why my next bike is gonna be a dual sport.

A real dual sport? Or a "Wee Strom"? These guys sound prepared to get off the fire roads and into some "interesting" terrain. There's a nice KTM Adventure for sale in Redding...see the "For Sale" page.
