As you all know, I am rewarding our TripperMike with a BMW tattoo on his *** for his reward for riding his FJR all the way to Colorado for the Clusterfuck.

I was just going to get Mike the standard Blue and White Spinning Propeller Roundel tattoo, but here is a tat that a Beemer buddy of mine has on his calf.

SkooterG is going to help me set up Topic Poll so you can vote for Mike's new BMW tattoo. Which one do you want to see on Mike's butt? Please vote!

Oh Jeezzzz I am totally speachless. I mean that is just way too kind of you Don.

The least you could do is let me pay you in kind. Seeing as how I'm from the Land of the Mighty Vikes *cough cough . How about a horn for each cheek. That'll add some class to your caboose.

Yahoo! I forgot to tell you Greg. Geezers lead on that ride so you go first and holler if you run into trouble

It's a real short hike to the Colorado River from the parking spot and we should be able to walk across without getting too wet.

Here is some history on the old native american path.....Old Fall River Road....

Mr. Bill,

I believe this is the road that in 1969 in my parent's old station wagon that I first realized I had a "heights issue". First time seeing the mountains...all is good, until my dad drove us up this road to the Trail Ridge Road. For some reason, I always seemed to be on the cliff side of the car and freaked. Scared ever since.

But riding my FJR in the mountains has since taken away much of this trepidation.

Thanks for finding this for me...I could never remember what road it was...now I know, thanks.

I think I may just visit this road sometime to conquer this fear.

This road will be nothing after you come back through Ouray from the big hole in the ground. Don't worry though, no guard rails to ruin your fall! Ha ha ha.

S76 had issues with the heights on the bike on the Trillion Dollar Highway. He is fine inside vehicles though even flying all over the place on S76 rotary wing aircraft. So you may find you are fine on the bike, but have fear inside cars.

You'll be coming back by the highest suspension bridge in the world too. The Royal Gorge Bridge. I used to ride that before there was a fee to cross except if it was too windy because the bridge would throw you off.

One of my AZ Beemer Friends was raving about the treatment and accomodations of the Rodeway Inn in Gunnison, Colorado; he highly recommended we stay there.

Perhaps the handsome, dashing, debonair, charming and irrepressible LEO from Albuquerque may want to see if he could work a discount there; since he's so diplomatic!

Gunnison is our stop for Wednesday night July 24th, Leadville is our stop for Tuesday night July 23rd.

I made my reservation at the Rodeway Inn. Got a room on the first floor with two queen beds. I wrote Mark several days ago but have not heard anything from him as of yet, but I got two queens anyway just in case.

Leadville gets cold even in July, I used to camp up there few years back.

That handsome, dashing, debonair, charming and irrepressible LEO from Albuquerque needs to get his head out of his *** and find us some rooms in those other towns. Who does he think he is anyway... Bust-a-Nut?

That Penske tattoo is lifelike. Is it real? It looks to be 3 dimensional. Someone walking behind you would think you actually have a shock in place of bone!!

WTF?? Why do I have to do everything?? I am debonair though...Right??

If Don will get off his *** and tell me EXACTLY what cities we're gonna stay in, I'll work on rates. But I'm not doing nuttin with a big maybe here, maybe there thing going on.

BUT...if we can get Dan and Marcus to room together, it'll be two queens on two queens...Nice!

https://www.super8.com/hotels/colorado/leadville/super-8-leadville-co/hotel-overview Hey Big Dan, you once were a tax paying and voting Citizen of the Grand State of Colorado; what about the Super 8 in Leadville, CO for 7/23? $80 ($87 with tax) for a Queen Single for one person (or SkooterG and HotRodZilla in the same bed!) and $90 ($98 with tax) rate for two double beds with a double occupancy.
I think the Super 8 would be a good choice for Leadville. I was looking at Breckenridge, but the rates there start at about $189 per night and up. Either way, Leadville is closer to hwy 82 which will take us the short-cut over the hills & through the woods to Grandmas place in Aspen and over Independance Pass. There are not a lot of choices to be thought of in Leadville, so we should act pretty fast to see if a group rate can be arranged.

Leadville is our stop for Tuesday night July 23rd, Gunnison is our stop for Wednesday night July 24th and the last night is Thursday night July 25th in Durango, Colorado.

"We will meet up at a motel in Estes Park in the evening of Monday, July 22 and we'll then part company in the morning of Friday, July 26 at Durango, Colorado.

Tuesday night motel in Leadville 7/23 and Wednesday night motel in Gunnison 7/24, I will not bother looking for lodgings until after my Daze of Moab-FODS VI in March!

Saludos y Recuerdos,
Don Stanley"
