WTF?? Why do I have to do everything?? I am debonair though...Right??

If Don will get off his *** and tell me EXACTLY what cities we're gonna stay in, I'll work on rates. But I'm not doing nuttin with a big maybe here, maybe there thing going on.

BUT...if we can get Dan and Marcus to room together, it'll be two queens on two queens...Nice!
Hey Lard ***: This was posted up a month ago, ese! I really don't know what my SkooterG sees in you, I keep telling him he needs a smarter/cuter Boyfriend!

"We will meet up at a motel in Estes Park in the evening of Monday, July 22 and we'll then part company in the morning of Friday, July 26 at Durango, Colorado.

Tuesday night motel in Leadville 7/23 and Wednesday night motel in Gunnison 7/24, I will not bother looking for lodgings until after my Daze of Moab-FODS VI in March!

Saludos y Recuerdos,
Don Stanley"
How come Zilla's supposed to do this. Don, you were the one that posted it up.

Or am I missing something?

Listen *******...You change your mind like Smitty changes bikes...Like Bungie changes directions, like Bust changes sheep at a county fair.

YOU said you were moving on the hotel rooms, but I'VE been getting the phone calls about WTF we're doing for rooms on this trip. Since I don't want to sleep in a MacDonald's parking lot, I said I would help.

FWIW...One of us is retired and one if us isn't. BUT...I can try to take time out if my busy schedule and do your work for you.

Oh yeah...One more time: THANK YOU MARK!

BTW, screw you for rubbing that BMW R90 S in my face...

:D

AJ, I too am retired and I'm not currently freezing my *** off in Mexico. Tell me how many rooms we will need and I will make some calls tomorrow to see if I can work out a group rate in the three remaining over-night stops. I see the current temps in Mexico are as cold as they are here. AJ, PM me with any info you feel is neccessary to provide the potential hotels with.

Dan

So far, we have 9 of the 21 rooms being blocked out for our group reserved for July 22. Of course there is still plenty of time to get your room if you are planning on doing this ride. Estes Park, for those of you that have never been there is a beautiful little tourist town in the mountains north of Denver with about 6000 people at about 7500ft elevation. The rates may seem high, but Estes park gets a lot of business in the summer, so considering that, $114 -$119 is not that bad. 7500 ft in elevation sounds pretty high, but Denver is over 5200ft and I lived at a little over 7,000ft while calling Colorado Springs home, so Estes Park comes up fast once reaching Boulder or Longmont coming from the east.

Leadville, CO - Check-In Tue. July 23 at the Super 8 Leadville, CO Address: 1128 US Highway 24, Leadville, CO 80461 Tel: (719) 486-3637 Manager: Matt

Rates: Single Queen, up to 2 people $71.96 + Tax; Two Double Beds up to 4 people $80.96 + Tax any additional people are $5 per person. Ride Name: "FJR Ride"

Leadville, CO elevation at 9600ft, boosting the highest golf course and airport in the country. With a population of under 3,000, its a small town and it can get really cold there even in July. Again, because all of the small mountain towns throughout Colorado are big tourist places and the rates during prime summer months can be pretty high. The rates listed here are discounted 10%, this hotel states they have no problem filling up during the summer, so it is advisable to not wait too long before making your reservation if you want to go on this ride. It is each persons responsibility to check their cancellation policy. They didn't jump on the idea of Blocking -Out a group of rooms.

Gunnison, CO - Check-In Wednesday July 24 at the Comfort Inn:

911 N. Main St., Gunnison, CO, US, 81230

Tel: (970) 642-1000

Rate: $85 + Tax includes Single King or 2 Queen Beds, Hot Breakfast (Eggs, Sausage, toast, waffles, Juice etc, etc), Swimming Pool & Hot tub, Closest Hotel within walking distance to all Restaurants, Bars, plenty of parking. Also, you can upgrade to a Suite for $10 more

Because "I" am not offering my personal credit card to secure these rooms, I suggest you make reservations ASAP, should the hotel book up between now and then, those missing out will have to find accommodations elsewhere, although they don't expect they will fill up, you have been forewarned, so Please don't wait too long.

Note: All hotels in Gunnison were offering $85 or higher, however, this hotel was offering the most amenities and is the closest to all of the eating & drinking establishments and liquor stores.

Grand Imperial Hotel - Silverton, CO

1219 Greene St. Silverton, CO 81433

Tel: (970) 387-5527

Booked Rooms Under "FJR Ride"

Rates: 2 Double Beds - $89 2 Queen Beds - $99 Single King $89-$125

all above rates unfortunately require Tax also. The Hotel has blocked out 20 rooms for a period of one month from today!! That's TODAY (01/18/2013), after which you are taking chances if you are not booked into a room by then. Their staff is minimal right now, so if the phone takes a while to answer, be patient!

website: grandimperialhotel.com "check this place out!"
The FJR and AZBeemers stayed here in September 2009 during the Colorado tour.

This is a Old Western Historic "Haunted" Hotel with lots of character. Bruce was chased by a ghost!! Scary!!

There is a restaurant in the hotel that serves a buffet breakfast for $9. There are some really cool bars and restaurants in town. It was very cold in the morning that September and Uri's battery was dead by morning. Durango is waaaaay too expensive, besides Silverton is the home of the infamous Silverton/ Durango Railroad and it is located at the southern end of the Million Dollar Highway.

As always, should you require further information (i.e. Cancellation rules, etc, etc), call the Hotel personally.

Thingfish had to back out due to a family obligation. So, Mr Bill and I will team up and share a room. I will free up my reservation in Estes and book Leadville and Gunnison as soon as the place in Gunnison is determined.

TripperMike and Papa Chuy Viejo are now booked at the Super 8 in Leadville for Tuesday night July 23rd, thanks to the efforts of Big-D.

Two beds for two people with a rate of $80.96 and taxes brought it up to $88.07. Matt gave a 9-digit confirmation number and the cancellation policy is no charge if canceled at least 24 hours in advance of arrival.

Listen up you Dumb *****, I didn't start this thread: HotRodZilla did and this is plainly stated in the Thread Title and in First Post, in the Ride Posting I clearly said I was not going to identify any hotels until after FODS VI had occurred. But HRZ and Big-D have generously jumped in and started the reservations ball rolling, I thank them for that!
