Looking for ride info on Las Vegas

Jim and I are also planning a ride West this May/June.

We were also thinking Grand Canyon, southern CA, and maybe parts of Nevada. Not sure about riding our bikes through Vegas.

We haven't quite planned a loop yet.

I also didn't realize that it would be that hot in May already. I thought July & August would be the worst months (heat wise).

I've lived in the Vegas area for 21 years and ride year round. May/June is usually nice, like others have said, stay hydrated. I use a 3L camelbak and take extra frozen bottles in my bags. Also important: wear sunscreen and cover your skin. I wear a mesh jacket in the summer, yes it gets warm if your not moving but when you are, you don't get dehydrated as quickly. If you're not into a jacket consider long sleeves. They do the same thing.
