Momentary hijack - Who's the guy with his head up WC's caboose?

Let this be a lesson - don't piss of WC. Oh sh*t...did I just do exactly that?

We now return you to your regularly scheduled thread.

Damn, I didn't even catch that in the original pic. Now that's funny. You talk about some major ass kissing. :dribble: :dribble: :D :D
Thus the facial expression.........

From the first "sad story" - um, personal responsibility has never crossed that woman's mind. Why is her last name different than her "sons" ?? Divorce I'm guessing?? So the kid kept the biological father's name? Hrm... He was about to embark on a high-paying, lucrative job. Dying before starting that would piss off any parent or SO... What if he were killed on the oil field?

from the 2nd story... um, yeah, he's 21. He can get a loan without co-signers. What does a 21yr old care about lowering that thing called an "interest rate"

Common theme, as others have stated - blame someone else. That'll fix it.

A 21 year old man is not a child. The parrent may feel a sense of responsibility but they cannot stop their offspring from doing legal activities that they do not agree with. Hence the rub.

Another classic example of people not being responsible for themselves and blaming something/someone else for their poor judgement -- be it hot coffee, handguns, power tools or anything else. Our society has gotten so soft that it now considered "harsh" or "cruel" to hold someone accountable for their stupidity. Perhaps the lawyers did it - I dont know.
Random thought....

This is very sad. For everyone's sake, I will keep my comments to myself. We all know what the deal is here.

Reminds me of the day in 1976 when I bought a used '74 Z-1. At the time the fastest bike you could buy by a considerable margin and not remotely as safe as the bikes you can buy today.

I was moving up from a GT380. great little bike I rode the snot out of but I was 21 and had to go faster.

anyway the salesguy took my money and wheeled the bike over to the double doors, opend 'em up and said 'here you go".

it occurred to me at the time thet he had no clue if I was actually capable of riding that bike, let alone safely.

I didn't kill myself, mostly thru dumb luck (can u say "hi speed frame wobble") but I never figured it was anybody's responsibility but mine.

my 2 cents

same issue today. blaming the manufacturers is a cop-out; they promote safety and training at every opportunity.

I think that we are mostly in agreeance. The loss of life is tragic, the responsibility is our own, goverment needs to stay out of it. I have a few simple rules that I take seriously, YOU are responsible for your own SAFETY,; EVERYBODY is trying to kill you,; KNOW your escape routes at all times. I drill these into my gf and 'preach' to my friends and fellow riders that don't ATGATT. I miss the friends that have passed for one reason or another but hold no grudges to the causes of their deaths. Drunk driving, shot gun blast by boyfriend, inattentive driving(speeding), and motorist pulling out in front of motorcyclist. I miss them all.

From my memory of the death speech of the character 'Old Lodge Skins' in the movie 'Little Big Man'.

'It's a good day to die, I thank you great sprit for my victories and my defeats'

At checkout, among my many happy thoughts, I'm sure I'll visit my FJR,

even if it is a factor in my unfortunate demise.

That is, if my demise takes longer than the damn chipmonk that ran under my front tire last night.
