Have you told her about the AMA MoTow provision for a "loaner SO"? After all, it is the primo time of the year to be riding.

:)

Seriously, give her all our best wishes and know that prayers for a speedy recovery are included in your coverage.

The fact that she is all concerned about damaging the bike speaks highly of her qualifications as a true motorcyclist and not just another poser. Let her see it, the minute you have it finished, all cleaned and polished. Try to never let her know how much the damage cost. She will feel better and recover quicker when the bike is healed too.

Tell her she can ride my FJR anytime she wants.

Jeff

Whoaaaa !! Nasty stuff there. Glad wifey is relatively OK.

Scars on a lady -- pretty cool I think. Our low-side a coupla years ago left Deb with some neat ones on her knee.

Tell her not to fret about it, there are worse things.

Yes this was a narrowly escaped accident. It shows the adrenilin of an accident. She was close to being garoted and didn't know it. worrying about the weekend & the bike amazing. Here is to a speedy recovery. :yahoo:

When you get hurt & not in danger of being run over. Take the time to asess what damages you have before trying to jump up.

Call me sexist if you like, but I dont like ladies getting hurt like that. Tell her to take care and that all are wishing her a fast recovery. Must have been tough for you both.

Best wishes from Graham & Sue in Manchester UK.

Sounds like you were well taken care of by the natives. Thank God for them. I'm glad your wife is ok and I hope you don't mind if I say a prayer for her. Both of you take care and God bless!

Wow....that sure looks nasty!! Amazing how a series of small incidents can multiply and go so wrong so fast. Glad it is only superficial and will heal fine. Definitely a diamond encrusted choker will cover up any (imaginary) scars!! Tell your wife to get well soon and don't give up riding. There have been 100 runoffs like that with other people that just ended up with a little grass in the fairing and some soiled shorts. The rut, highway peg, fence, etc. couldn't have stacked up like that if you tried.

Wow, I'm glad you made it through alright. Judging by the description it could have been catastrophic. Your husband is abolutely correct, men dig scars. Make sure you have at least 3 good stories to go along with the scar because you are going to spend the next month telling the story over and over again, might as well make them entertaining.....you can even leave the motorcycle/barbed wire thing out.

I'm really glad your wife will be okay! I bet you didn't have a second thought about the weekend being ruined, I bet you were just glad she's going to be fine. The location of the cut sure is scary! Phew!!! Get well soon!!!

Trooper she is... Lucky you both are... Heal fast, be strong and remind her IT WAS NOT!!! HER FAULT! I'm sure she feel's bad

we are all very glad she is Ok and we WILL see her riding soon!

Update: Susan appreciates all the responses; she told me to tell everybody thanks! First time I've seen her laugh since the incident! :clapping: She especially liked the ideas about new jewelry...um, thanks... I think! Yeah, she has had her eye on a new HJC carbon fiber helmet...I'm sure we'll be adding one to the collection soon. To GalaxyBlue: She currently rides my old bike, a '82 Suzuki GS1100L. Amazingly, all I need to restore it is 2 turn signals, one mirror, one side cover; windshield; front fender needs work (found a new one in stock) brake light switch; tank also needs repainting. I'll use this time to repaint the sidecovers as well. All in all, not nearly as bad as I imagined..you can't kill those old machines. She eventually wants a new Suzuki Bandit.

I also have to say that everybody involved in the rescue treated us like gold. The care she received was top rate, everyone from the first EMT, to the flight medic, to the trauma team that assessed her, to the nursing staff afterwards. I was genuinely impressed and thanked everybody I could. In addition, the locals that helped us were just great and made a huge difference. At the risk of sounding corny, it really restored my faith in people.

Susan also wanted to tell all the guys who think scars are sexy........I believe she said something about wanting to meet y'all?

Once again, thanks for all the kind words and well wishes.

Brad

that is completely amazing! she sure had an angel on her shoulder!! I hope I get the pleasure of meeting you both someday, since we're all here in Texas. remind her that a little makeup will downplay those scars big time and if applied correctly, won't even look out of place.
