Oh hell no. I'm not changing nothin!

I didn't mean to give the impression that there is anything wrong with the route you made. I think it's a great sightseeing route.

Yeah, we could blast up to MDI in about 2 1/2 hours if that was the goal. But we wouldn't have seen anything along the way. ;)

There is no better way to go than the coastal route, it's a nice ride. Often you will get nice previews of where we are going, like seeing Cape Neddick and Nubble Light from Long Beach. There is no guarantee that I can make this ride, but if I can go I know the first couple of days worth of riding very well. Not only the route but the work-arounds should the seasonal crowd put in an early appearance.

Edit: I see Fred W covered it while I was typing.

"........ approximately 120 miles, but without stopping, that equates into four hours of riding."

That's 30 miles an hour. Really, four hours??
lol, you guys spent more time planning this ride, than actually riding it! Remember you can't please all the people all the time. Just some of the people some of the time.

I'm glad you laughed. I thought it was funny too.
Let's just say that following CJ's sightseeing route we won't be spending much time on the highways or even secondary roads... Lots of miles along the tiny shoreline roads.

Also a lot of photo-op stops and chowder stops.
Maybe I should bring this

Does anyone have a confirmed reservation at Casco Bay Inn? I called and the message said that they were closed for the season. I then reserved via internet and I received a 'reservation request' response.

I booked online but have yet to receive a confirmation email response.

It'd be a bit of a bummer if we all showed up and the place was shut.

Zip,

We won't be doing Fridays ride thats a definate. As far as the rest of the weekend that is still up in the air. Its a 173 miles from home to zip up to the hotel that most peeps will be staying at on Friday. I don't think I will be able to confirm untill a we get back from Virginia at the end of April. So this is still up in the air for Ann and I. I would love to make it though.

We will see,

Dave

No negativeness on my behalf, I just wasn't sure if the routing sucked or not!!! LOL. :p I am A-ok with doing whatever the group wants to do, I just wanted to get this put together and enjoy some good riding with even better peeps and killer food!

So, from looking at the area between Camden and BH, what would we be missing if we did shoot straight to MDI? For those not in the know, I was planning on making two stops early on day two after breakfast- Fort Popham and Reid state park. Reid state park is something I'm very willing to part with, I just recall it listed on places to see along the way someone had posted...... can't recall that far back! And NO! I can't scroll through the thread neither! B)

Fred, will get with you soon on that MDI route. Trying to work on tracking down some job leads/applications, but all I can think of is Clam freaking Chowdah! (Yes, the New England style...... and yes, it IS the only kind!)

As for reservations, I might be sleeping in the Iron Butt Motel if'n I want to go!

As of right now It looks like I will not be there. Sorry to miss the fun and food.
You will be missed, Greg.

-Iris (& Jim)

Well that sucks. Perhaps a Cats and Daks ride being done again this year? If I still don't have a job, I might could make it! :)

Thank you. I'll probably see you at some other ride this year.
